I found NOV99 as in a different deal for the 99p, tried DEC99 didn't worked and in Feb 2014 it used to be FEB99P so tried DEC99P and worked out for 99p.
Friends you can now use this too.

Absolute BARGAIN this is. Customer service is really good just drop them an email and ask them not to bill you as you don't want to continue after your 3 months & they'll sort it.
I cannot recommend Audible enough am 40 & love to read but unfortunately it's gotten too hard to concentrate (neurological issues) at a written page, also had 2x week long stays in hospital Audible was awesome for that too.
Buy credits each month don't bother with paying for the books as it's a rip off (ie nearly full price) I think you only have access to your library with an active sub.
You can use a laptop & convert their files & burn to CD for the car (I used an image burner to create an ISO instead of burning, this effectively removes their DRM you can then rip the iso back to mp3,flac whatever & won't need an active sub for your book(s)
If you're after a series to get into:
Dresden Files, Harry Dresden is the only Wizard PI a real Wizard. Think an adult version of Harry Potter there's over a dozen books in the series now it's AMAZING
Wheel of Time series absolutely cracking fantasy series with magic & swords & scheming following a child called Rand who discovers he's the reincarnation of someone who helped defeat the dark Lord (their devil I suppose) as he grows up & his adventures of him & his friends, allies & enemies. Again over a dozen in the series.
Give the trial a go you won't regret it

You don't need an active sub to listen to your library - I've been signed up for a couple or years but haven't paid membership for well over a year and still listen to all my books. If you cancel at the end of the 3 month trial (or at anytime actually) just wait and they'll send you an email at one point asking you to come back on another deal - think it's usually £1.99 for 3 months but still a deal.

Can see I'm the lone voice of reason (again) but anyone thinking about using this service do think twice. I was mis-sold a version of The Lost World - their listing stated it was 8 hours or so. In fact it was about 2. Added to that the sound quality was absolute trash. I thought that was a one-off - but I recently discovered a couple more stories I bought off Audible - they also have a very poor bitrate.
Steer well clear there are better quality alternatives out there.
janner43 to Elevation
6 Dec 15#111
Couldn't disagree more - and I doubt yours is the only voice of reason!!
I have a wide selection of audiobooks from Librevox as well - and for obvious & fair reasons, not everything there is top quality, but everything I have ever purchased from Audible has been flawless. If you don't like your copy of the Lost World - or anything else for that matter, if you had raised a complaint they would have refunded you.

A subscription gives you one credit a month.
Each book can be paid for by spending one credit or by paying the listed pound amount.
You can also buy the books for money regardless of subscription status.
Bluebella to Adam2050
6 Dec 151#100
£7.99 subscription gets you one token per month. You can use your token to purchase one audiobook of any price.
So for example if you take this offer you will get 1 token straight away which you could then use to get "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" (which is worth £32.99). Then next month you would get another token and you could get another Harry Potter book - so you could get three Harry Potter books with your tokens worth over £70 - all for £2.97
If you want extra books then you have purchase them for their listed value or get more tokens.
Oh and they currently have a buy one get one free offer so you could get 2 books for your token.

This offers hot, thanks for the response.
The actual product overall is for me a bit over priced a bit like buying a Blu-ray at the RRP.
I buy a lot of books second hand these days as they basically next to nothing. I can usually get 2-3 for the price of one months sub. Though It's all dependent on the book. Still feel there needs to be more competition in this market for customers to get a deal similar to rentals.

I just use the audible app on my mobile, and listen to it in the car via Bluetooth.
Much less hassle than converting files & burning CDs, and a lot easier to keep track of where you are in the novel. May take a bit of investment if you don't have a Bluetooth stereo in the car, but they aren't too expensive and would be a cheaper option longer term.

Just a note on if using with iTunes for Mac (so you can download the .aa files to iTunes for syncing with an iPod) - seems the authorisation process in iTunes 12 wants to take you to an audible.com link, but at least for me (with Chrome on Mac) it was then auto-redirecting to the audible.co.uk homepage and not the correct authorisation link (i.e. impossible to get iTunes 12 authorised to play the files). I had to use the Hola! VPN extension in Chrome to force Chrome to be browsing from USA for audible.com, process then worked as shown in Audible's help pages.

Watch it though. The selection of MP3 players that can actually PLAY these books are way out of date and archaic. I have two Sony MP3 players inc a NWZ15 - their latest, yet Audible won't play on either. Nor will my Cowon, and their help couldn't give a toss. The worst "technical support" I have ever seen.

I agree with the first poster. Some other Audiobook players have an automatic setting for timer. With a 15mins as standard. Then at the end if you are still up you can just give it a shake to add another 15 mins and so on. I find the audible app very cumbersome.

Used the one month free trial to get a hard to find audio book. Was really impressed with the quality of the recording (voice acting) and also the app which performed flawlessly. Just getting into audio books as I end up sitting in front of a screen all day at work and its a nice break for my eyes to be able to listen to a good story instead. The only downside is having to skip the book back to figure out at which point I fell asleep!

May you always find water and shade Rich44.
It's my absolute goto fantasy series, such an immersive world with believable characters, and the sad passing of Robert R Jordan left the finale as notes which were finished by another author. ~(sorry name escapes me right now)~ did a very decent job but I could never get over the fact that Mat Cauthon didn't have the same zing.
Dovie’andi se tovya sagain.
I'd like to recommend something on the other end of the scale, sci-fi.
Night's Dawn Trilogy by Peter F. Hamilton (Reality Dysfunction, Neutronium Alchemist, The Naked God)
Multiple worlds, wormhole technology, alien races met, and then a 'Reality Dysfunction' happens. It's an amazing technological spin on whether or not people have souls. Only 3 books rather than 13, but each one is the length of LOTR (1,400ish pages) and just as believable as Wheel Of Time.
P.S. I'd rate Wheel Of Time as a PG on age restrictions if not reading ability, Night's Dawn Trilogy is definitely a 15+ and the first few dozen pages(minutes) are very dense reading(listening), but get past that and you are in for a huge epic space opera about individuals as well as momentous society altering revelations.
I'm entitled to a 1 month free trial...will this extend it to 4 months for 99p?

Ah yes I forgot about that. I got them when they were having a bogof 'sale' on a few things. No. Amazon Prime has a Kindle Audiobook Library which gives you free audiobooks but it's a very limited selection and no big/new titles that I've seen. Audible is a service run by Amazon, but is a separate signup and includes all the newest bestsellers etc. You get 1 free audiobook a month for your subscription, and a discount off purchase price of other audiobooks. It was 30% last time I used it but it says "up to 70% off" now so I guess it varies.

Give the trial a go you won't regret it

wondering which burner software besides their app would read the .aa file and perform a conversion as I'd like to convert it to an mp3 file
Thank you

Steer well clear there are better quality alternatives out there.
Thanks in advance
Each book can be paid for by spending one credit or by paying the listed pound amount.
You can also buy the books for money regardless of subscription status.
Any clues?
With no way to sign up it seems.
Any clues?
As for not much on there for £7.99... you sure? Only over 150k titles.
Much less hassle than converting files & burning CDs, and a lot easier to keep track of where you are in the novel. May take a bit of investment if you don't have a Bluetooth stereo in the car, but they aren't too expensive and would be a cheaper option longer term.
Cancelled and took this offer up. No problem. Great savings, Thanks
Check yours!
Selected a book costing £32.
Added it to the basket.
Applied the code in the promotional area of the checkout.
New membership applied at £7.99 per month with the first 3 months at a £7 per month discount.
Heated OP & thanks
I think Netflix has destroyed this prospect completely for me. I am a glutton for content, and 99p a book a month works for me, but the thought of it going back up is a heartbreaker.
Definitely HOT!
For the record, Audible is great. I only intended to do the free trial 2 years ago and it sucked me in. 1 credit per month, but lots and lots of offers for cheap books, 2 for 1's, etc. If you don't like a book just tell them and they'll refund it.

Me:Okay, I've cancelled. Let me sign up again with the 99p offer...
Dolorosa:Sure Tony, please apply the 99p membership in your account, so I can reinstate the 2 credits in your account.
Me:Done.
I'm a member again
Dolorosa:Yes Tony, that is correct, you are enrolled to 99p membership plan and I already reinstated the 2 credits in your account.
You have now a total of 3 credits in your account.
---end snip---
I click pay, and now its subscribed me to a 30 days free trial!?. What is all that about. No sign now of the 3 months trial anywhere in my account either.
Given up trying to find what happened, or where to enter the code again. Waste of time imo.
My memember status says:
Membership status
1 book monthly membership
And when I click the "Shop Audible" link and select "Redeem a promo code", I get..
"Sorry, it looks like youve already taken advantage of this offer. If you think weve made a mistake, please contact Customer Care"
So, do I have the offer or do I not have the offer. Confused.
Extremely Confused.
Had just got my last credit from 3 month free trial. Cancelled and signed up with this, no problems.
Thanks!!!
