Just been into my local Asda (Chatham) and they had pallets of boxes of 24 cans of coke for only £4. This works out at an amazing 16.67p per can.

As my neighbour once said "Coca Cola goes on dirt cheap only when a war is on the horizon which involves the US". Nonetheless I still think the old Coca Cola 'Classic' is and was far better than this sugary drink.

Interesting, what's the rationale behind that?

Except it's the same thing, new coke died in the 90's, and I'm not even sure it made it to the UK?
Though ours is sweetened with sugar instead of corn syrup I think, though it's always been that way.

Remove blood stains from clothing and fabric. Clean oil stains from a garage floor: let the stain soak, hose off. Kill slugs and snails; the acids kills them. Clean burnt pans: let the pan soak in the Coke, then rinse. nice one need to stock up on cleaning products

Indeed. As a source of refreshment I'd rather drink cat slash.

Also very good at removing tooth enamel thanks to the phosphoric acid.

Don't forget cleaning the windscreen when it gets that strange stuff gets on it, and of course, teaching the children how a nail can disappear overnight when left sitting in cola.

Presume no Zero?
Despite being really popular, never seems to turn up as much - wonder if profit margins are lower.
Depends if you're drinking the drink purely for the carbs or like the taste.

Ahhh, cheap phosphoric acid, what could be better? 35g of sugar and caffeine as well?? I'm in!

People on this site come out with all sorts of rubbish - be honest, you all drink Coca Cola, eat McDonalds and pay over-the-odds for Apple products.

Is there a real difference between Coke Zero and Diet Coke ?
I was once told that it's just a marketing ploy as one has advertisements aimed at women and the other aimed at men. Is it true ?
Thanks.

I much prefer coke zero and they do have different tastes to me. I'm pretty sure the main purpose of coke zero was to compete with Pepsi max.

It never fails to surprise me the amount of preachers of hate towards Coke who feel the need to comment on EVERY bl**dy deal. For the love of Jemima Puddleduck just stay away if you don't like Coke!
No one want to hear it. I love Coca-Cola and I have all my own teeth, I am not fat and I've yet to develop type 2 diabetes. Everything in moderation.
Probably the same people who have to vote cold on every LCD TV deal because it's not plasma, or every 4k TV because there's "not enough 4k content" or because that particular boxset is available on Netflix.
This site is beginning to get on my b**bies...

I think many people dislike Coke as a company as they promote their teeth rotting liquor to children with the Coca Cola bus every christmas, they also seem to charge more for the product than pepsi etc.
yrreb88 to mccririck
9 Dec 15#33
In a free market you can charge what you want for a product as long as people buy it. I fail to see how a big truck offering free coke is only targeted at children and they do offer sugar free alternatives. You don't have to drink their "liquor".
To compare it to alcohol, to which I assume you are also against, is ridiculous. No offence but it suggests to me that you are against people doing something because it doesn't conform to your views of a healthy lifestyle.
Of course Coke is not a medical elixir but it's hardly an issue in moderation.

funny thing, I always thought it was the child's parent's job to decide what was good and bad for them. no, let's blame the evil manufacturer as they force people to buy it.

Who drinks this c**p ? Its dangerous stuff (eg very high levels of sugar, phosphoric acid and artificial sweeteners). I wont have it in the house.
yrreb88 to mrkaroshi
9 Dec 15#39
It can't have both high levels of sugar and sweeteners. Phosphoric acid isn't really a problem as there isn't enough of it. Orange juice is just as acidic and sugary. There's nothing wrong with artificial sweeteners unless you believe the click bait on the Internet.
To call it dangerous is ridiculous.
