Good Housekeeping Magazine mentioned this particular Reindeer design Cake this year as being a good buy ...
"This cake has a rich, fruity flavour with a moist crumb. It also has a cute design but it is quite shallow so it might not last the festivities - although it's ideal for a small family"
Heat added ;o>

Interesting went into Aldi Havant last week told me that they had all been recalled as Christmas trees keep falling off. I said to Manager, I didn't care and did he have one in the back? He told me he wasn't allowed to sell it to me ...go figure

Could any one explain " infused with brandy and a Cognac injection"
Does it make it alcoholic?

It very likely refers to the traditional way that Christmas Fruit Cakes are made - the Dried Fruit mix is soaked for several hours or overnight in Alcohol such as Brandy or Sherry or Rum so the Fruit rehydrates, plumps up and take on a little of the taste before it gets stirred into the Cake mix and baked. Then the 'injection' part comes when you pinprick the cooked and cooled Cake and for weeks afterwards you 'feed' it with Alcohol to improve the taste, it's keeping and to ensure it is a beautifully moist Cake as well ;o>
EDIT: it makes it taste pleasantly boozy and rich but you definitely won't get drunk on it! A lot of Supermarkets also offer Alcohol-free Cakes for those who aren't keen on the flavour or are trying to avoid possibly being tempted by the taste into starting to drink again if they have had Alcohol problems in the past.
