The Nazis, under Hitler, were the highest polling party in Germany in 1933 - were they doing something right too? Come to think of it, which British newspaper was supporting them at the time? Ah yes - the Daily Mail.

I had three vouchers from weekend papers. Went yesterday to get 2 frozen turkeys and other stuff (at least £50 in all) and not pleased to find NO medium or large frozen turkeys in stock, or expected. Spent about £12 on other things and had to go to Asda for the turkeys, not as good a deal.

The magazine is found in the Saturday edition, only. Within the magazine is the Lidl leaflet. Perhaps the retailer muddled it up and put it in yours? Can somebody else verify either way? There was certainly a Lidl leaflet in the Saturday edition and was advertised on the front page. The Sunday edition advertised the page 72 voucher, only. There would be no reason to put 2x vouchers on one day.

Very nice, in time for Christmas. Many families could spend £50. They've got turkey £4 kg and whole salmon £4kg and cheap veg at 29p. Also some very nice cheese, they sell a herby double gloucester which is really nice.

I personally think Lidl have some great products and my local shop is always spotless and well stocked. However when you approach the tills you get that feeling that you are simply getting processed as fast as possible with as little pain as possible. A horrible experience compared to any other supermarket and that is the main reason I don't shop there much .... customer service shouldn't cost anything but it seems to be beyond Lidl.
mart321 to crofter
20 Dec 152#70
personally I prefer the way they do the tills at aldi and liddle, it's just so fast and saves me time. I find it annoying going to tesco and having them take about 5 seconds to scan each of my 100 or so items. No messing about in aldi and liddle. And no long queue times.

I agree with your comment. I thought this for a little while and it put me off. But a friend said to me is the 5 minute enhanced experience you get from other supermarkets worth the 20 to 40 % more on your shop. ......Then i started shopping Lidl thinking the enhanced experience at the other supermarkets wasn't worth anything near what i saving.

Great offer ALDI's and LIDL are welcome here and to add to the competition. Tesco and the other large supermarkets have been changing our habits and the way we shop to suit them. I now go and shop at LIDL's and buy what i need when i want at a good price. i dont have to buy 18 toilet rolls ,3 cheeses ,6 pints of milk ,BOGOF ,Buy 2 get one free etc etc . nice to go and shop for the things you need and have a smile when you see the till price. I hope to see the market share of the ALDI and LIDL go up more and hopefully see the other supermarkets fall in line and remember what the customers want and not what they want us to do. Oh yeah LIDL is paying a living wage to staff. well that is what i read the other week. Thanks for the post and i got the voucher. I hope this means more families will eat well this Christmas.

The problem is context of course. I cant spend 50 pound in lidl as there isnt one near me. In aldi on friday i spent 70 on a weeks food, nappies, dishwasher tablets and some other bits.
Now if i were on my own i wouldnt need that... but thats less relevant to me.

May i point out that the actual wording on the coupon says "Only one alcoholic product may be purchased" which is not the same as only one item. Last time this was on i bought 48 cans of lager, and the assistant just let the sale go through without any comment, all 48 cans were the same product.
So give it a go.
