That's just under 42p per game, how could you complain about that? You pay for the servers and service of Xbox Live the games are just an addition. People expect 2015 AAA games.

To the best of my knowledge you do not have to be a gold member to keep playing the backwards compatible X.box 360 Games With Gold but you will not be able to play the Xbox One GWG if your Xbox Live Subscription expires. I stand to be corrected but if so, please provide proof that you can continue to play the Xbox One free games if you are not a Live member.

Yeah, I did that and when I got a One the games I had "purchased" on the 360 all showed up on the One's dashboard.


Backing up saves on a USB/flash drive is also a good way to keep saves safe.

Never really given the GOW series a chance, it always seemed sluggish compared to COD etc, I think I need to give it a chance.... and as its free theres no excuse!! :smiley:

forgot about the cloud saves. but still wasnt one of the reasons i bought live. still a bonus to have though

My main reason for paying for Xbox Live Gold is to be able to save to the cloud. I had a console stolen in a burglary several years ago and lost months of progress on Oblivion. Cloud save means that I don't have to worry about losing my save games.

ALL 5 of these games are also playable on Xbox One.

Looked at a vid last week on the X 360 and sure the MSFT guy said you can also DL XB1 games thru the x 360.

So when/if you get an XB1 the games are already there for you to play.

Having bought the Gears Ultimate Edition for the Xbox One I received codes for Gears 1 and 2 this week and have installed Gears 2 onto my external hard drive. Didn't bother with Gears 1, even though the original is probably my fave (I've just finished playing the upscaled version!). Not sure whether Gears 3 and Judgement are ready for download yet. Microsoft have stated that they will not add any game to the BC collection until they know it is working 100% with no glitches, so they will take their time to make sure there are no issues with any game. Assassins Creed 2 is on the first list of backwards compatible games. I've also downloaded Dirt 3 as it's free at the moment. My first try at BC was Perfect Dark Zero. I've always liked that game, and I've noticed that game and also Dirt 3 look better on the Xbox One. If people started playing the multiplayer of Perfect Dark Zero again it's a hell of a lot of fun if the servers are busy.

CEX will give you £5 cash or £6 trade in voucher...So it's worth something but do it now because knowing CEX their prices will drop!

After the expire date for theif (January 15th) can you still play the game or does it become invalid, or does that date refer to the date of download expiry?

its good if you getting you kids a xbox for xmas,, give them a few extra games,,you can even print of the covers and wrap them up haha.

Personally I'm fairly pleased about this month's offerings, at least it's not just a bunch of Indie pap :P

I do mine through Xbox.com for 360 games so just do the Same for Xbox one ones. Or u can use the Xbox smart glass app on phone to do Xbox one games

They really weren't, given that the first games included the likes of Banjo-Kazooie, Banjo Tooie and Perfect Dark. :wink:

Earlier this month was the full release and a wider roll-out to cover 104 games, when previously only a handful had been added in addition to the original selection. Expect further expansions to the list of compatibly games to come in waves. not a gradual trickle.

Had it ages mate via the preview programme, the first few games were crap, seems the list is growing daily :smiley:

Exactly, it's not a hard concept to grasp, I bought live to play online way before the free games arrive and I was still happy to pay £20pa for it. I guess some people are never going to be happy :wink:

I pay for the online always have always will the games are a bonus if I don't like the look of them I won't download them, I also don't request a partial refund for these bonus games that I choose to download or not.

Before anyone chimes in with why pay to play online Psn did it for free for years...Yeah and that's the reason when it goes down it can last for weeks unlike xbox live

I always get every game offered even if i own the disc as one day i may sell that copy or give my xbox360 to a friend who cant afford his own. You may have never heard of the games, doesnt mean they are rubbish. Never tried but loved playing, Fable 3, Civ revolution, Mafia 2, and most recently Valiant Hearts: The Great War, amazing game.

I was half expecting Lego Star Wars to be the free 360 game.

So you're happy with poor games being offered every month?! £20 a year for gold is manageable but they can surely afford to offer better choice than they have recently. I'm not asking for games worth £30/40 just decent playable games for once.

I can think of lots more including: Assassin's Creed 2 and Black Flag, Gears of War 1 and 3, Saints Row the Third, Dark Souls, Super Street Fighter 4 AE, Dishonored, Witcher 2, Darksiders 2 etc. The list goes on and that's not including Xbox One games.

True both good games, but only two worthwhile examples in years of this free game scheme.

They are not so great but id have them over the not so great indie games sony are likely to flood us with.

Games with gold are always poor games that dont sell. Pointless to keep advertising it as its just dissapointing every month.

Yes I only have Gold for GwG as well. I stopped subscribing to Gold back on the 360 as I virtually never play online, a few months ago I got a Xbox One after getting PS4 at launch, only got Gold for GwG.

If you buy gold for GWG then that's okay but nobody promised that you will get the type of games you expect... If you expected this or that game then you simply shouldn't have.

This year we've had some good games already.

It's not a bad deal but Gold offers so much more than just GWG. I've never heard of anyone paying for gold for just gwg. I'd be extremely disappointed, even at £18 per year, if I was paying for gold just for the free games but each to their own I suppose.

Yes. Seems a bit odd especially as I was told by a Microsoft advisor that once the new dashboard went live and BC went live, we would be able to browse the 360 market and spend credit directly from the X1.

I always install all GOW on both X1 and PS4, whilst i never play them silly indie games, my kids can have them if they choose its still better than nothing.

The only good stuff ps plus ever gave was that horror game which i missed and injustice which i bought previously. I dont think ive seen any other games on there thats of my taste.

same with xbox but the games have been more closer to AAA than the other console. I already had Tomb Raider, Rayman, Walking Dead (i think ps has this too) metal gear v ground zeroes, black flag and a few others

Its a free Game however you see it, a thank you and a competitiveness with PS, its very welcome even if some are hit and miss :smiley:

Thief for Xbox One is nice. I wanted it for PS4 but got the PS3 version and never played it as I couldn't be bothered switching on last gen. So pretty good to get it on Xbox One to have it on a current gen like I wanted.

Flashpoint : Dragon Rising is one of the most fun military shooters I played on the 360. Absolutely hated it the first few hours I played because it just felt so clunky and the A.I felt really unfair. Stuck with it and ended up loving it. Then Red River came out and it was far more arcadey :disappointed:
