My son has been saving up to buy one for quite some time, and so we wanted to find a decent deal for a physical store so he gets the excitement of actually going to buy it with his piles of money! and this was the best I could find. It's reduced from £239.99 to £219.99, but also includes a Wii Skylanders Swap Force Starter Set (originally £29.99 now £10) for FREE!
Also worth mentioning that you actually get a physical Mario Kart 8 game in this bundle, not a digital download, which is IMO much better.

Love it or hate it, the Wii U is a gaming system all about fun and enjoyment, rather than the mostly 18 rated endless violent shoot-em ups on the other 2 (I know, I own one).It may have a smaller games library, but it does have some real gems, and nearly all of them are family friendly, the sort of games we all used to enjoy playing back in the 80s and 90s.I for one have grown up with gaming from the start way back in the early 70s, and it's frightening as a parent now to see the direction a lot of games have taken, and what is now classed as acceptable, made worse by the ultra realistic graphics, not something I'd be happy about my son playing.

For those unfamiliar with the Wii U, here's all the details...

Wii U Premium Console & Mario Kart 8

Brings the family together in new ways!

SECOND SCREEN Wii U features a touchscreen built into its

GamePad controller, providing a second window into your gaming experience and allowing for new and innovative single and multiplayer gameplay.

OFF-TV PLAY Enjoying a Wii U game but someone else in the family wants to use the TV? No problem! Many Wii U games allow you to carry on playing on the GamePad screen itself at the touch of a button. Keep everyone happy without interrupting your game!

NINTENDO GOES HD Wii U is the only games console to bring you Nintendo’s world famous brands in up to 1080p high definition. Mario, Zelda, Pikmin and more have never looked so good.

TOUCHSCREEN NAVIGATION The Wii U GamePad’s touchscreen makes

it easier than ever to navigate game menus, the internet or software like Netflix or LOVEFiLM. When all you need to do is reach out and touch a menu, just about anyone can pick up and use the Wii U.

MIIVERSE Want to share what you’re doing with the world? Wii U makes this possible with Miiverse, the brand new network service that brings players together. You can use Miiverse to link up with your friends, join special communities, hear directly from game developers, and even share your own handwritten messages and pictures drawn using the GamePad touchscreen!

RETRO CLASSICS As well as all of the latest titles, Wii U also puts a collection of classic retro games at your fingertips. With Virtual Console you can download NES and Super NES games directly to your Wii U and enjoy them either on the TV screen or on the GamePad.

INDIE GAMES As well as blockbuster titles, Wii U also has a growing array of independent games that are available on Nintendo eShop. These imaginative creations are made by one or two people rather than giant studios, and showcase a wealth of original ideas.

BRINGING PEOPLE TOGETHER Wii U is designed to unite people, whether they live together or apart. Online gaming, Wii U Chatand Miiverse connect people over long distances, while support for up to four Wii Remotes ensures that families on the same couch, in the same living room, can also get involved.

COMING ATTRACTIONS Blockbuster titles like Mario Kart 8,

SUPER MARIO 3D WORLD, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD, Bayonetta 2 and many more are all currently in development for Wii U.

EXPLORE WHILE GAMING Wii U’s web browser can be accessed without the need to shut your game down. So if you want to get some game tips, watch a video or check your email then you can do so by switching to the Wii U web browser - either on your TV or GamePad - and then switch back to your game without losing your progress or reloading.

Inside the Premium Pack youll find a 32GB* Black Wii U Console, Black Wii U GamePad, Black Wii U GamePad stylus, Wii U AC Adapter, Wii U GamePad AC Adapter and HDMI Cable & Mario Kart 8.

Play Games. Play Movies.

Download the free Netflix app to get even more entertainment from your console. Netflix streaming membership and internet connection required.

Calling the Xbox One and PS4 next gen is really stretching the term with how inferior they are to PCs and the lack of any real innovation/advancement. The 3 consoles belong in the same generation, they're just doing different things.

Yeah, and I remember when there was a period of time on here when a Wii U deal was posted. Some people kept banging on about how the price would be £150 or £100 standard this time next year.

We've been doing the same for some time, but in the end you can't wait forever, you might not get one at all, so you've just got to go for it!
There have been odd deals cheaper, but on the whole the Wii U prices haven't really shown signs of dropping much further, except on some dodgy looking overseas based web stores, and Rakuten's fake £204.70 ad for a Mario Maker bundle that's actually £250!.Anyway, we were very pleased, and my son was really excited to walk out of the store with only £2 left in his pocket, and a big pile of boxes in his arm, and an even bigger smile on his face.

Not a bad price but the Wii U is nearly dead. Save your money for the new NX which could come out next year and might be more powerful than Xbone and PS4.
BigDoniel to Decoded
7 Nov 15 2 #13
There's both no release date for the NX or even confirmation of what it even is, so it's a bit mental to say wait for an unknown console. The Wii U is easily a good buy if the games are there for you.

NX could come out next but could not. What about the now and Dec 25th.... lots of us in the market for a Wii U, hence the supply and demand causing admittedly inflated price. I'd be happy with £150 for a Wii U premium with MK8 or other decent game, but looks like I will be doing well to get it for £200 on Black Friday.

Been looking myself for over a month and although this isn't exactly a great deal it is the best one I've seen so far.

Until a few days ago Gamestop were selling the mario kart bundle for £220 but their price has now shot up.

If you can hold on a little longer i believe there'll be better deals between now and the end of the month

I'm pretty sure there will be a £150 premium sold somewhere before the end of the year. Tesco already had premiums under £100 and john lewis flogged the basic at £112 so £150 for an old console isn't unrealistic.

so long as you're happy with the current selection of games, I wouldn't be surprised if nintendo stopped developing AAA games for it next year. they've already delayed Zelda so they can save it for the NX console. This along with the lack of 3rd party support make the WiiU a bad investment. Don't get me wrong I had one and loved Mario Kart 8 but I sold it before the NX announcement devalued it.

Worth remembering a lot of the "cheap" deals were pricing mistakes, I recall all the £112 consoles were refunded for example. I grabbed my Zelda version for £200 two years ago that was on a 24 hour deal and lowest I have seen bundled with a game is around there or a bit lower.

Like with anything, keep your eye out and you might snaffle a bargain  Same with games, Wonderful 101 bounced to £15 for a time so it's all a case of checking and very good timing.

The one good thing about this MK8 Premium Deal is you actually get a physical copy of the game (i.e. the case and cartridge). A lot of the premium deal games come built in to console or download codes. You do well to currently pick up MK8 game on its own for £30, and £35 is usual typical selling price.

EDIT: This is OOS at Smyths now anyway. £20 off is no great saving on this, that won't be hard to match or beat in coming weeks.

The Wii U is seen as rubbish if your a RPG'r or want to play Grant Theft Auto and Call of Duty etc. Funny how Wii U fans don't go around slating PS/XBOX for their lack of family games or competition to Mario Party, Mario Kart, Donkey Kong, Splatoon etc..... Totally agree! Bought premium via Rakuten a few weeks ago with Mario Maker + amiibo for £216. Got £13.50 back via Quidco and bonus points earned 'bought' Mario Kart 8 and Hercule Warrior (which in turn earned a further £13 in points). With Amazon deals of under £30 for Splatoon and Skylanders Trap Team I am very pleased and looking forward to Christmas.

Just looking out for deal on Toad Treasure Tracker, but maybe just being greedy.

I say fake, because I was browsing MSN yesterday morning, and a side ad loaded showing live Rakuten deals, one of which was for a Mario Maker Wii U bundle for £204.70, however when you click on shop now to buy, I was taken to Pixel Electronics shop on Rakuten, and the price was £250, although it did include the points.I have contacted them about it, as it's obviously very misleading, but ultimately I feel happier having got a UK model bought in a store, and of course it's a more exciting buying experience for my son, than just waiting for a delivery.

I'm pretty sure the NX will be launched next year due to the dire sales of Wii U. It has only just beaten Dreamcast sales and we all know that was a flop. Nintendo need to catch up quickly so I reckon next year isn't out of the question. Are they holding the new Zelda for the NX too?
Decoded
7 Nov 15 #40
What you are saying makes sense if you can't wait, but waiting a little longer for a more powerful console with hopefully better third party support seems more logic. I had a Wii U for 6 months and believe me it doesn't take long to finish the few games made for it and then you are left with not much to look forward to. Even Zelda keeps getting pushed back and could be a NX exclusive in the end.

Without better specs nothing would evolve mate? You would be still playing pong instead of your Dreamcast games.
jsty3105
7 Nov 15 #42
Nothing wrong with specs. It's making it the ultimate goal that's the problem. This 1080p 60fps generation has been the most boring in living memory. The arguments are the worst. With people needing to use multiple screenshot comparisons. If you can't tell the difference without a comparison then it doesn't matter.
bernardsfingers
7 Nov 15 #43
Your logic isn't that great here - you seem to be advising the people who have so far already waited around 3 years to buy a Wii U & are currently still holding out for a cheap deal on a 3 year old console to wait another year or more for Nintendo to release their next console. The people you seem to be recommending this to are unlikely to buy the console when it comes out & will probably be more likely to wait another 3 years for the NX to drop in price before paying out for it which kind of defeats the point of your recommendation.

When are people finally going to wake up, The Wii U is dead but the fan boys just refuse to except it.Gamers know it, the game developers know it & even Nintendo know it. The xbox and ps fan boys don't even bother to spam the Wii U posts on HUKD anymore !!
Encouraging people to spend £220 on a end of life machine when they could spend another £50 and get a console with years of life left in it is bonkers.
BigDoniel to niceblokedave
7 Nov 15 1 #46
How can a console be dead with games in the pipeline, and the strongest library of exclusives? Third party wise it's been sparse for a while, but there's easily enough games to justify it. For most people with a decent PC there's next to no reason to get one of the other 2, all they offer is technically limited third-party, or disappointing exclusives.
Gamer_U to niceblokedave
7 Nov 15 #48
Wii U has a serious shortage of quality games so for me as a Wii U gamer I'm tied to wait for Xenoblade X in December and that's it for 2015. Then in 2016 hopefully it'll be Zelda, Star Fox Zero, SMTxFE, Pokkén Tournament and some others.

God forbid Nintendo delays Zelda, Star Fox Zero, SMTxFE and Pokkén Tournament. :stuck_out_tongue:

The sales have picked up recently, and although it's not gonna set the heather on fire I'm confident it'll finish OK. The only console really holding its own is the PS4, yet the X1 isn't hit with the 'dooooomed' stick the Wii U does. What good would launching a console next year really do? They'd be competing with 2 established consoles, and in another 2 years when the other 2 have their successors it'll be the same story. It's ludicrous to suggest that Zelda will skip the Wii U, its a console supported by a loyal fanbase so why would they stab them in the back like that?

A Wii U on par with the X1/PS4 would still have the same third party issues. They don't release the games since it had a pretty jaded start, and they were amazed that people chose not to buy half arsed ports. Off the top of my head there's 15 major WiiU games I either want or have, not including the eshop and VC. That's easily more than the other 2 consoles combined, its for me the best major console out there. Especially if you own a half-decent PC.

It's quite funny when you go in a game shop you are lucky to see even 1 small shelf of Wii U games for sale. How can this be after 3 years? Because no one wants to develop for it. EA actually said the processor is weaker than Xbox 360 and PS3. Minecraft developer Notch hated it too hence no Minecraft. Metro developer said it was too weak to run Metro Last Light. The few AAA Nintendo titles are good until they run out.
bernardsfingers
8 Nov 15 1 #52
Even if no other games are released on the Wii U apart from those already announced (ie including Zelda & Star Fox) I'd say that the Wii U is worth buying if you like Nintendo games rather than the stream of 'incredible' 1st & 3rd-person 'mature' games on the PS4 & XBOX1 that you appear to value more highly. Some people just genuinely aren't interested & it might actually surprise you that for some people the Wii U might actually be worth spending £200 on. I really don't understand the logic of saying 'you might as well spend the money on an xbox or playstation' when they have completely different games & you just can't get the games you can play on the Wii U on either of the other two. In fact that argument is quite tedious as it assumes the Wii U games are somehow inferior rather than being generally quite brilliant & fun to play. But each to their own, obviously!
Decoded
8 Nov 15 #53
Yeah, each to there own.. I bought the Wii U and was eventually disappointed with its lack of games and charging the pad everyday but some people might not mind that and enjoy it.
bernardsfingers
8 Nov 15 1 #54
Also another point that I don't understand in the Wii U vs other 'next gen' machines is that everyone seems to forget that you need to subscribe to PS+ to use the online functions that the majority of new PS4 games use which adds another £60 or whatever it costs per year, every year. So after the equivalent 3 year period that the Wii U has been around someone with a PS4 would be quite happy to have paid an extra £180 on top of the £300 they spent on the console in the first place. And then these same people brag about all the 'free' games they get & complain about Nintendo's reward system for giving free collectable merchandise. If nothing else, Nintendo at least have the decency to only charge you once at the point you buy the console.
Gamer_U
8 Nov 15 #55
Doesn't make sense why Nintendo never upgraded the GamePad's battery to the high capacity one on the new bundles because this one lasts up to 8hrs whereas the original was like 3-4hrs-ish.

Indeed, but are consoles really evolving now? Well, of course they are, but in my view it's the games and associated risk holding them back.Things have moved on a great deal since the days I used to program games on the Commodore machines in my bedroom, they're often epic games, that have taken a massive team of people several years to make, and a lot of money.Because of this, they tend to be sticking to formulas that work, and popular genres to ensure that they make money, afterall this is why they're in the gaming business and why it is said to be bigger than the movie business, it's not so much about the passion anymore. So, what we have now, is a situation where a new console improves over the old, but the games have stayed pretty much the same, yes they look and sound better than ever, almost cinematic, but essentially it's more of the same, very rare to find something that's truly different.Despite all the consoles I own, the Dreamcast remains one of the best consoles of recent times, it was both groundbreaking in technology, had for the first time perfect or better arcade ports, and such a wide choice of gaming genre's available.Shenmue, one of the best gaming experiences ever, was all because of Yu Suzuki's passion to create something amazing, rather than the desire to make money for Sega.It was a sales disaster, only because it was the most expensive game ever made, and took so long to make, the same could be said of the console as well. All that innovation took a lot of time, expensive R&D, but ultimately it had short life as despite it's fantastic selection of games, piracy and a lack of the DVD & decent marketing allowed it to be overshadowed by the PS2.However, when you look back at them, the Dreamcast I think still has some of the most playable, and enjoyable games, the sort of titles you can still almost pick up and play. The Wii U is very much in the same position, yes I'd agree it has a very limited selection of games, and is obviously near the end of it's life as everyone keeps saying, however take a closer look at the games next time your in CEX or something. Both the Xbox & PS all have walls of titles, the Wii U just a little stand, but amongst all those Xbox titles, I really struggle to find anything that really appeals beyond what I already have, even more so to find something that my son might enjoy, and that's not full of violence, sex, and swearing, which lets face it makes up the majority of their games.I posted this deal, because like you and most others, I just couldn't see the sense in buying an old console, but then I realised that I need to forget that, and think about what's available rather than what might be, and it's quite refreshing to find a lot of gaming titles that are not dark 'hardcore' gore fests, but the sort of games you don't need to spend ages getting too involved with instruction manuals, or take to seriously, they look like fun, and that's where gaming came from, and why I was happy for him to buy a Wii U right now.

It's funny you should mention Pong, because I'm lucky as a collector to own almost every console since the dawn of gaming, not to mention a few real arcade machines, so I've seen gaming evolve not just from a technical point of view, but also the gaming genre's, and as I've said I really do not find the constant violence in games appealing at all, and we could debate what all that leads to, but it's almost funny to think back at the controversy that Pit Fighter created way back in the 90s when you look at what parents are now prepared or pressured to let their kids play.Looking at the shelves of gaming in most stores, I'd have to say less is more, because although there's a massive choice, but when you actually look at all those titles you'll find that actually your choice is quite limited to a few tried and tested genre's.A lot of the creativity we used to take for granted seems to be disappearing, it's always been like that once something becomes about the money.Looking at the shelves of my game collections, it's interesting to see the choice available for different computers or consoles, each with it's own little snapshot of social history. The VCS was perhaps the most creative time, in the sense that almost every game was new, but that didn't last, and in the end the mass of more of the same in an effort to just make money almost killed of the entire gaming industry just as it had got started, even in the arcades, and if it wasn't for Nintendo, you may not be playing games at all today.Computers allowed regular people like me to create games back then, and this bought back some of the creativity to gaming, and the desire to get as much from the then very limited technology as possible, but it was the fun aspect that had disappeared. The NES made gaming fun again, simple design, quality controlled, and nothing too complex, you plug it in,hook it up and you're gaming.Different generations will always be fond of their systems, and it's easy to look through rose tinted glasses, but people now think they have a gaming choice and that everythings great, but they've never experience gaming as it used to be, primitive yes, but what a real choice, well apart from Taito's obsession with vertical shoot-em-ups and the NeoGeo being almost exclusively beat-em-ups!.Gaming is becoming very dark, because if gaming designers can't change the genre, then you need to push the limits or boundaries. So basically we're getting less of a real choice in both consoles and games, and parents in particular are pressured into buying inappropriate games, because it's that or nothing, so personally I think the Wii U gives you that choice. The games are nothing like those found on the other 2, I'm not saying it's for everyone, there's a generation of gamers that only know 1st person shooters, but as a parent I feel at last that I don't need to be watching over his shoulder all the time to see what he's playing, he's enjoying his game without any pressure, and that's got to be a good thing, not to mention that it's gaming we can enjoy together.
Sorry for the exhaustive post, but as someone who knows that gaming didn't start with the Megadrive or Snes, it might be good to look at the whole consoles / game choice from a different perspective, other than 'it's old, wait for the new one', or 'Is that all the games available'.
Although I posted this deal, I would have to agree that I think it could go to about £200 by Christmas, but sometimes it isn't about the money either, it's about the excitement and the moment! ...that's what he'll remember when he looks back at his Wii U days, not whether he saved another £20!

To be honest I agree with you that modern games are getting samey and violent. That's why I haven't moved to next gen yet. I had a Wii U for 6 months and after finishing the 6 or so AAA titles realised there was nothing left so sold it. Charging the pad everyday drove me insane and I thought the large pad didn't seem ideal for playing some games. Mario 3d isn't as clever as Galaxy and Donkey Kong isn't much better than the Wii version in my opinion. MK8 is good but not overly keen on the anti gravity karts. So I bought a cheep Wii for the Nintendo classics and have a PS3 and Xbox 360 for the serious stuff and I'm happy. The Wii U is a nice little console but i was disappointed with it too. The games didn't seem groundbreaking and its future looks bleak. I liked the Dreamcast for its arcade perfect games but to be honest I think MARIO 64 and Ocarina Of Time were the true games that really blew me away with the immersion of gaming.

Don't worry, I'm not trying to say the Wii U is the best console out there, far from it, neither am I saying that the old ones were necessarily the best, I appreciate progress and technology. My biggest gaming collection is on the C64, I've literally 100's, and about a good half are **** if I'm honest. The thing about the Wii U, is not the console itself, but it's games, which make a nice change in a gaming world now dominated by the big 2's rather bleak library. Those 2 titles you mention are absolute classics, especially Mario 64, quite amazing for what many forget was a cartridge based system.Despite getting old, I love gaming, and count myself lucky to have witnessed it's birth almost, and see it evolve over the decades and years, but I'm just disappointed with the route it's taking. In the old days, the technology was always the limitation of what was possible, now that's not an issue, it seems corporate greed rather than lack of creativity seems to be problem.
I can say one thing about the N64 or Dreamcast, or pretty much any other console prior, when I opened it, I was playing in minutes, the Wii U took almost an 1½ hours of information entering and software updates before we could do anything! I think on reflection, it's the simplicity of older gaming I miss more than anything ...anyone for a game of Manic Miner?

I can see how of the Wii U was your only game console it could get old, but its always been alongside my PC. There's 15 games of the top of my head I want or already have, not including the third parties that were released and the pretty substantial VC. I was never a Nintendo fan growing up, always Sega and Sony, and mocked the Wii U at launch. I don't know how, but it just feels like a game console the way the others don't. You get the impression playing games on it that you're supposed to enjoy yourself, too many other 'AAA' releases just seem like cash cows.

£25 is just too much for the damn battery. Think I paid like £16 and that was my limit for it.

I really wanted to love the Wii U but my biggest gripes were ...

1/ lack of games especially third party
2/ Terrible pad battery
3/ lack of hard drive
4/ No analogue triggers for driving games
5/ Gimmick Pad that's costly if broken
6/ Noisy optical drive on some games
7/ Poor range for off TV play
8/ Resistive screen on pad not capacitive

The few games I played I did enjoy but didn't think they were anything amazing. In fact not many companies actually took advantage of the 2nd screen including Nintendo. I think this console was made as cheap as possible and the gimmick of the 2nd screen just didn't catch off. The Wii's gimmick was much better making it a top seller.

1. Agreed. Which is why I've shortened my Wii U game collection to only the games I found to be of quality and fun to play.
2. Can't say I concur. I got the high capacity and it lasts for like 8hrs.
3. True but I only play physical games so it I haven't hit the limit on the 32GB storage.
4. The only racing game that'd make use of it would be Most Wanted so not too much to choose from.
5. I'd be annoyed if the darn GamePad broke down 'cause this wannabe-tablet costs about £60-70 on CeX (and seems like the cheapest around the web).
6. True.
7. Don't care about that. I never liked playing on the GamePad because its picture quality is just mediocre.
8. Same as above.

It's a shame that Kirby's Triple Deluxe was a 3DS game than Wii U while Kirby's Rainbow Paintbrush is a Wii U and only ever uses the GamePad to play the entire game on it. Yoshi's Woolly World kinda makes up for it but haven't played this title for months since I've finished the game in its entirety.

P.S. Hope Nintendo learned their mistakes from the commercial failure that is the Wii U.

If it is all about the purchase price and amount of game releases for people then get yourselves on ebay and buy a Sega Master system with 100s of games titles readily available.
jsty3105

Your other points are quite valid but I felt this particular was a bit unfair. In the sense that it's a common stick used to beat the Wii U with, yet, you don't even need to attach a hard drive if you buy mostly physical releases. It look a full year of various games before I even needed to add additional storage. The games just aren't very big - there's no 50GB download just to start playing games in the first place. A several games, particularly first party ones, are comparatively tiny. Pikmin 3? 5GB. Splatoon? A measly 2GB.
Gamer_U
8 Nov 15 #70
Splatoon was originally just a gig so with all the DLC stuff it's probably more than just 2GBs.

Mario Tennis Ultra Smash is going to be 888MB (what a waste of a Blu-ray) but with the DLC (it most definitely needs because it seems too incomplete and empty) it'll be about 3-4GBs or more.

You don't seem to understand that a hard drive isn't only just used to download digital games. It can be used in conjunction with the optical disc drive to load faster textures etc. I guess you never saw how GTA 5 had a play disc and the other disc installed to the hard drive on the Xbox 360 to help run the game good. A hard drive is faster than reading from a disc also and can reduce loading times and is much quieter. Why do you think Xbox One and PS4 install games to the hard drive instead of reading from the disc.
jsty3105
8 Nov 15 #72
All valid points. But the Wii U doesn't do that in the same way so it didn't need one. Not saying one wouldn't have been useful mind you.

But bearing in mind installation and save data sizes for retail disc games (of the several in my Wii U) seem to be around 500MB on average, you'll have space for about 50+ retail games to install. That's a lot of games for a 'measly' 32GB Wii U to handle. Comparatively, even a few 50GB download games will whack 500GB storage space of the Xbox One or the PS4 quite badly. Anyway, the main point is that the comparison isn't fair because space is handled differently. And adding storage to the Wii U is both simple and cheap.
jsty3105
8 Nov 15 #73
I was curious so I checked my Wii U's storage. Splatoon takes a total of 2048MB and I've downloaded the latest updates.

Software 1683MB
Save data 5632kb
Update data 333MB (surprising considering the recent >600MB update)
Shared save data 26MB

As said before, it's tiny game. All the DLC was already on-disc and the two big updates have had no material effect on the game's file size.
Gamer_U
8 Nov 15 #74
Surprising it's not that big after all but then again, Nintendo's known for doing amazing compression.
jsty3105
9 Nov 15 #75
Yeah, their developers do amazing things. Some of their best looking games have amazingly low file sizes (even accounting for art style).

You mentioned you'd streamlined your collection to only the best games, just wonder if you'd care to share any tips on what are really good or must have titles for the Wii U other than the Mario stuff?
Now he's actually got it, it'd be good to get a few games for Christmas, but since I can't afford to spend, or should I say waste a lot of money, I'm just wondering what to go for?
Curlynob

If it's any help, I've traded my Wii u collection down to: Zelda Windwaker HD, Hyrule Warriors, Wonderful 101, Pikmin 3, Super Smash Bros, Super Mario 3D, Mario Kart 8, Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze, Splatoon, Lego City Undercover, Rayman Legends, Captain Toad and Need For Speed U. Oh and the Skylanders games, we've got all of them too. To add to the debate raging across these pages, I also game on PS4 and I think the Wii u is a completely different proposition. It's a great family console. My sisters children are still getting plenty of use out of their original Wii and will be getting a Wii U for Christmas - and I will be helping them get the best deal. PS, sorry OP but I don't think this is it :-)
