Been looking at Chia seeds for some recipes & they're are twice plus the price at Holland & Barrett. Couldn't believe my luck when I saw them in Homebargains for £1.79!
Bought at Cardiff store, but told its national. Located with the dried fruit & nuts.

Isn't the point of seeds that they pass, undigested, through your body for germination elsewhere?

Yes.
But soak these overnight -especially good in coconut milk - and they expand massively and then easily digestible, alternatively grind them before putting them in your (porridge and smoothie as above), but I advise soaking.
but everything is twice the price at Holland and barret who actually buys stuff from there ? and there rip off deals omg lol -- its days must be numbered on the high street !
It's just a different way of pricing things. Some retailers do everyday low prices, some are discount led. Nothing rip off about it

Definitely a fad though, not bad for you, but just a food, nothing special about them. Eat some low sugar muesli, will be nutritionally the same if not better, due to the combination of fruits, grains and oats and a lot cheaper.
I use them in my breakfast smoothies (banana, oats, almond milk, blueberries etc)

If you use these a lot (I put them in a smoothie every morning) then the Sevenhills brand on Amazon are a bit cheaper - though I don't know if you'll have to factor in delivery. Currently 2kg for £10.75

They're currently in the penny sale at Holland and Barrett, so yesterday I paid £2.69 for 100g plus 1p for the second 100g - I was quite pleased with £2.70 for 200g, this is much cheaper.
