For £5, you're getting so much game here. I'd encourage anyone who goes for it to get through chapter two of the single player, there's a mission called "Open your world" and that's when your game opens up to other people hacking in, and your ability to hack others.
The problems this game suffered from were over hype, and a pretty mediocre story (single player). There was just far too much expectation put on this game early on. They put this game out there in 2012 saying it was going to define the next-gen, unfortunately the game had to be downgraded because they overestimated the power available (they didn't have the dev kits for PS4 and XB1 back then).
The story is all right, don't get me wrong, but it's no Deus Ex. It's just your average hard ass out for revenge.
I feel like most of the nay-sayers played the single player then traded in the game. The multi-player invasion is so much fun. I played hundreds of hours of it online. You invade someone's single player game and hack them, then it's all down to a game of hide and seek with wits and map knowledge paying off big time sometimes.
It gets very tense when you're at the smallest circle possible, trying to hide from your target.
The whole city is a playground for this, there are no pre-defined areas, it starts wherever the hacker starts the attack, and marks a circle on your map.
Likewise at any point you're playing you might suddenly get a message saying "Your data is being stolen." Boom, someone is in your game, find them quick!
That's just the 1v1, there's plenty of people who have loads of fun in the Decryption game which can be a free-for-all or team based game where you have to hold onto a file while it unlocks, but other players will kill you to get it.
And there are also races which are fun enough, although I don't think the driving mechanics in this game are particularly skilful or compelling. They do the job for an open world, but something like GTA 4 or 5 has more fun driving.

Your name says everything about in one. Basically don't listen to you cause a moany sod.
Games fine, works lovely and plays well and is fun, just don't expect GTA or saints row and youll be fine. It was never anything special but its not bad and has ample gameplay and if you dont stray from the story to much (you will find you forget what your doing f you leave it a bit between plays) you'll have some fun.
Although, if you dont have this or have played it at least,by now its probably not up your street...

Good write up to be fair and I agree this game got far too much hype.. People compared it to GTA on release! I personally enjoyed it, I did not spend no where near as much time online but what I did do was enjoy hiding in the bus stop on the invasion games! It worked a lot LOL. Must have put a good 50/60 hrs in the overall game... Overall defo worth a fiver.

The game suffers a bit for having too much rubbish filler, the driving is absolute garbage in it and the story is trash... other than that the combat is brilliant. The unscripted set piece street combat reminds me of Heat and the parts of the game where you are being hacked, i have to agree they are superb. Especially in crowded places, where you can fire shots to see how people react, but risk the police turning up or searching every single area in a smaller and smaller circle before the timer runs out.

Far from a rubbish game, one of my favourites of 2015.
The multiplayer content is excellent and rarely mentioned, the racing is also very good. (The game has excellent driving mechanics)
You need to push yourself at the beginning of the game because it starts Slloooowwww....
I didnt play the DLC the first time around so might grab this to play through the DLC

The driving mechanics are dreadful. I'm not expecting gran tourism, but perhaps programming the car to stop when you release accelerate not just creep along - or maybe they got it so accurate that it's an automatic?

Because the second hand price is so cheap now, and Watch_Dogs has been getting bundled with certain console deals still, there's enough users. Basically anyone who hasn't specifically opted out of the invasion system is fair game
I play it on the PC and there's still a decent number there, and I tend to find console numbers are usually higher for longer.
