Ah yes sorry, It wasn't my intention to compare the two. I got Golden Abyss when it was on PlayStation Plus back in 2014 so naturally played through it. Keep seeing this deal pop up at least a week and every time it's slightly cheaper. Very similar to ACU last year. I sold my unused copy of the Special Edition last week to pick this up cheap instead.

Hardly a problem to anyone to create a US account to activate the exact same content as you would get digitally in the UK...this is a money saving site. Have you never bought anything from abroad that is cheaper because you have some weird self moralistic principle going on?
Elevation
12 Nov 15#32
Then just rename it "HotDeals" and it would make a hell of a lot more sense. I'm sure even you can spot the logic in that one.
cicobuff
12 Nov 151#33
No I cannot spot your logic at all, these are Hotukdeals, deals that are available to the UK consumer, where in any instance does it necessitate the business has to be in the UK? Even businesses in the UK have goods from abroad on sale, in fact most goods these days are manufactured abroad, so what is with your own principle on 'hotukdeals'?
I suggest you go and complain to the site owner that this site does not meet your own xenophobic and moralistic principles.
*EDIT* In fact you have posted deals from gog.com yourself...UK based? I think not. A tad hypocritical. Hotpolishdeals.com Direct2drive.com deals, ATgames Cloud Holdings.....HotUSAdeals.com. I could go on.....

djbenny1
12 Nov 15#45
think i found the answer in the link someone posted above and the answer is yes, its bound to that account and you would have to make that account your "primary" on your ps4.

Last time this was listed someone commented you can activate via your US account then play with the UK one.
Can anyone confirm if it is locked?
djbenny1
12 Nov 15#48
from what I read you can play it on your UK account, but you have to make the US account your "primary" account on your ps4.
I'm not sure how this works for games purchased from the UK store if you switch the US account to primary - can't you access those anymore until you switch the primary account again?
such a faff - just not worth it imo!
PS but the price over here is **** scandalous when you take this into consideration
cicobuff
12 Nov 15#49
You are right, it does not look like much of a faff though to toggle between them, at 44Gb download size I am prepared however to wait even longer for a physical copy after already playing them on PS3.
Making an account 'primary' does not mean that sole account is the primary account, you can have multiple primary accounts. For example, me and my brother share a PS4, and we have a US account too. All 3 accounts are activated as 'primary'. I can play US games on my UK account with no problems, and there's no deactivating or activating again.
Lonestar04
12 Nov 15#51
Its simple and there's significant savings to be made over the lifetime of the account if you're buying digital games regularly. 15 minutes to read and set up. Easy. But each to their own. Surprised Sony still haven't attempted to fix this cuz loads of people must do it.
cicobuff
12 Nov 15#52
I am confused, how can you have multiple accounts activated as primary? Surely that defeats the object of the term 'primary'?
I have two accounts existingly set up from my PS3 working on my PS4, a UK one and a US one....if I activate my US account as 'Primary' does that have any effect on my UK account and PS Plus? Would I have to switch 'Primary' activation when I log back into my UK account for PS Plus 'free' game downloads? Or simply do you mean (illogical) that you can have two primary accounts activated at once?
kwanzee
12 Nov 151#53
In your first scenario, activating your US account won't have any effect on your UK account or PS plus. Logging back into your UK account, nothing would have changed, apart from the fact you can now access US games from your US account.
It's illogical if you believe there can be one 'primary', don't think of a primary account in the literal sense. It basically means other users on the system can benefit from your licenses of games you own. A good example would be having multiple accounts on a system, only one account needs ps plus (primary account) and the other users can play online multiplayer and play ps plus games, same thing essentially.
cicobuff
12 Nov 15#54
On my PS3 I used to switch between my UK and US accounts all the time, and made several purchases on the US PS Store, I just do not understand the malarky of having to have a US centric Primary Account on the PS4?
kwanzee
12 Nov 15#55
You have to make the US account primary, otherwise you can't play US games on your UK account. If that's not your aim then you don't need to do that lol, and can just play the game on your US account.
cicobuff
12 Nov 15#56
What I am referring to is the fact I never had to do any PSN activation swapping on the PS3, simply bought things from the US PSN Store after signing into my US ID and bought things from the UK PSN Store with my UK ID.
Any games I purchased via the US PSN Store I simply logged into my UK ID and played and gained trophies on my UK ID.
I never had to activate my US ID as the primary PSN account.
Therefore what I am wondering is if I activate my US ID as the primary PSN account whether I am logged in as my UK ID or my US ID regardless does it always take me to the US PSN Store ?
kwanzee
12 Nov 151#57
Oh I see your point, i'm not sure why the PS3 is like that. But either way, no it won't take you to the US psn store if you're on your UK account.I think you're overthinking this haha
cicobuff
12 Nov 15#58
Maybe overthinking, just seems so illogical!..so that means I could just simply leave the primary account set as US for the life of the console in order to buy and play on my UK ID from either the US or UK PSN Store I gather.
kwanzee
12 Nov 151#59
Yeah exactly, it's just like your situation on the ps3 with US account and UK account, being able to play whichever games you want on whatever account.
cicobuff
12 Nov 151#60
Except it is illogical unlike the PS3! It seems odd that switching a primary account to the US enables both purchase and play of games from both territories, whereas obviously leaving on the UK alone locks out the US.
I wonder if a US PS4 console has the same oddity whereby they need to set a UK primary account.
eddeddeddedd
12 Nov 15#61
Jesus, I wasnt expecting the price to drop this quick... I'm not bitter about paying £25. Not at all.
kwanzee
12 Nov 15#62
You might be mistaken, you still can't purchase US games from your UK account, there's no mixing of PS store regions. It's just when you buy a game from your US account, you are able to play that US game on your UK account.
Also the Americans would never make a UK account because our prices are terrible :'(
cicobuff
12 Nov 151#63
I am not at all mistaken, it is the fact you can purchase from the UK PSN from the US account I find odd!
kwanzee
12 Nov 151#64
Oh wow, that makes no sense lol!
cicobuff
12 Nov 15#65
Precisely why I said it is illogical...if you can activate your primary PSN account to the US and continue purchasing from both PSN stores by logging between each of your IDs it seems weird to me...you would think you would still need to switch primary activation again to your UK account to be able to purchase from the UK PSN Store
Lonestar04
12 Nov 151#66
It is what it is.
_pierce
12 Nov 151#67

# Btw I'm buying a shared account since last few years.
cicobuff
12 Nov 15#73
The confusion really is not the setting a primary device (of which you are able to have PSN IDs from any region) but the fact that setting a primary device as US centric enables purchase and activation play from both US and UK regions (regardless of which PSN ID you use), whereas setting the primary device to UK centric only allows purchase and activation play within the UK region (also regardless of which PSN ID you use).
You would think regionally setting a primary device would lock activation to that country, clearly setting it to US doesn't....which is odd, but advantageous in that you do not need to change back to UK for UK purchases.

Got this earlier. However I emailed them and they got in touch in around an hour with a link to verify my purchase and get the code.
Followed the instructions regarding the US account (actually used my relatives address in Florida for a bit of credibility :smirk: - not that it matters anyway). Really easy and can play the game on my UK account. The PS still logs in with my UK account too so don't even see the US account anyway. So it's not as much hassle as some people are making out.
