Too many armchair experts on here whenever a new phone is listed, "yeah but this, yeah but that" when I make a purchase I trust the reviews, or better still ask someone that has actually bought and used this or a similar model from the same brand. The spec for this phone for the cost is outstanding. I took the plunge and bought the recent Umi Iron from banggood, it took an age to arrive as it too was a pre order but it has proven to be a superb phone for the price I paid, it slaughters my old Htc One X in every field and cost me less than £100 delivered. The battery is great, performance superb, screen beautiful with bright colours, feel and build quality very good. Sound more than adequate, Wifi faultless, Cameras very nice but possibly not as good as first stated. To conclude, this handset is less than £70, no it doesn't do iTunes, and no it doesn't say Samsung on the front but its less than £70. nuf said.

I had problem with the phone aswel. I contacted them via their website. they asked me to send the phone back but royal mail wouldnt take it due to battary cant be removed. I then informed them the issue and they returned my money back and asked me to keep the phone. (i had problem with double sim. but its working fine with one sim - even now)

Had a good play with it.
1. 4G speeds... Excellent
2. Drove home from work using GPS and Google maps.... Excellent
3. Compass works
4. Fast and quite responsive once the screen protectors are removed ( shame it has only 2 touch points not 10).
Bad point: Poor Wifi (have to sit on top of the router for best connection).

With the Banggood app coupon, I paid just over £60 but with Xmas post delays, it's not here yet.
Only really wanted to keep in the car as a back up (calls/GPS), so won't be too disappointed if I don't like it because, like you said, it has a lot of good points for a sub £100 device.
Thanks for the info.
Have you tried any of the ROMs available on Needrom?

9 Jan 16#73
In all fairness I have owned and used phones like the s6, lg g3, and g4, oppo find 7 and r7 to name a few . Currently I have a honor7. You do get what you pay for in all fairness but for just under 70 which is what I paid it is worth it. Just make sure you understand what you are getting. Its really well built nice size and feeling its fast and fluid and the camera is also quick it looks and fells like a more expensive phone. I would opt to go for the xamoi redmi note 2 for around 90 on gear best over this if less than 100 is your budget but this in terms of build us better and has more of a stock android rom than that. The camera on the umi is quite poor in my opinion more like the moto g first gen yes its that bad and the battery is on the small size well for me it won't last the day. But I really use my phone a lot. The screen is also not AMOLED its LCD with the 2 point touch which really effects the sensitivity and you do feel it.

9 Jan 16#71
1. GPS is good it connects too a few satellites not as many as other higher specs phones i have tried but it works well. The accuracy was within 2 meter which is good normally even more expensive phone its between 5 meters.
2. Compass works but it takes time to normalise it's quite slow to turn but it works not well compared to other phones i have.
3. It doesn't have 3 finger screen shot not like the uelfone it only has 2 point touch which is disappointing and does effect sensitivity of screen.

1. GPS any good (quick lock and accuracy)?
2. Does the compass work (does Google maps show which direction you are facing)?
3. Once the three finger screenshot function is switched off, does this phone actually have a 10 point touch screen?

You know, standard bug fixes and optimisation. UMI sling out too many phones that sound excellent on paper and feel really good quality in your hand but they are really really poor internally.
The battery on the UMI Zero I had would drain after literally about 8 hours of non-use. Also more often than not it would just switch off randomly, they acknowledged it once and then forgot about it and started spamming out launch dates for their UMI Hammer...
forcedv
28 Nov 15#60
What support are you after?
Lunchboxx
27 Nov 15#59
Don't waste your money on UMI products. They release about 6 new phones a year, and stop support for all them as soon as they launch. I had an UMI Zero which I bought in March, which was new back then. They since launched the following models: IRON, IRON Pro Hammer, Hammer S, eMax, eMax Mini, Fair.
DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY.

Depends on what you mean by replaced. My Oneplus One hasn't technically got a removable battery. But when the battery degrades a period of time you can always open the phone (lose warranty but the phone will be useless otherwise anyway) and replace the battery in some cases. Just need to watch a tear down video on youtube etc to see how easy if, possible it is to do.

Amen to this! Like stated, so many armchair warriors who see the words 'Chinese' and 'mobile' on here and steam in with the usual BS - ironically probably posted using their mainstream-branded, CHINESE MANUFACTURED, massively overpriced device of choice.

Just to let people know Chinese times for pre orders are usually off the mark. Add another month I would say to the date of postage add another 2 to 3 weeks before you get it in hand. You probably get the phone in hand after January mid to end of January I would say. At the moment they a promising postage from the 15 December this could be later, as well on top add Christmas postage mid to end January looks more and more likely may been even being of Feb

Whilst I'm in the market for a new phone and really want to go the windows 640 route I do keep being drawn back to the £100-200 Chinese brand phone. will only buy the limited on available from amazon or fulfilled

My bad, it was another phone using same chip with only 2gb ram and 1080 screen, had slight lag while gaming/multitasking. 1 of nicest looking phones I've seen in awhile though. Battery capacity is pretty low though, won't hold much charge with the bright colours of lollipop os
