Nobody wants this deal, Argos don’t want to do the deal, this time of year is not the correct time for deals, but I think you may have a point — they’ll defy all that, ignore everyone and bravely, audaciously and yes, even defiantly give us the deal.

Can someone tell me which 3D Glasses are compatible with this tv.. manager at argos wont supply me with Glasses or tell me which ones i need !!??

You do know that all tastes have upscaling capability, right? Otherwise standard definition pictures (480i/576i) would just be a box in the middle of the screen on a full HD or uhd tv.

Wasn't Argos like he mentioned it's £499 in argos

Bought this tv today, good quality and at a price of 299.99. It is good for upscaling to UHD . Argos never mentioned the 3D however the box did and it did come with 2 3d glasses but it is active.
Hope this helps

Where did you buy this for £299 please?
Chrisdocherty91
1 Dec 15#58
Yeah I do, and I asked if the glasses were in the box to which was replied " no it was a mistake on the advert " so I said isn't that false advertising to which the manager gave me an eBay listing to purchase and click and collect to which they would then refund me the cost of, il post the screenshot below

Can you tell me exactly how you managed to get the glasses? What was your argument - does anyone have a screenshot of the advert with it saying about the glasses?

Highly recommend this tv, best tv I've purchased in a longtime it does have 3D just Argos said it was a mistake listing that it comes with the glasses to which I managed to get them to cover the costs of other ones

This is really tempting especially if it does have 3D too (Argos have removed any mention). I bought a 720p Toshiba about 10 years ago and it's still going strong  Any other views from people who have bought it would be appreciated.

Toshiba like many other electronics manufactures have licensed their TV business to a company called Compal, who then have TV's built by different manufactures around the world. This happened back in the summer. Google Compal Toshiba.

After some thought and research I purchased this tv today from Agos. Have not yet had time to play with it fully but the picture quality looks good. For the record it is 3D.
Like everyone I was a bit suspicious and puzzled by the adsence of info on theToshiba web site but if you do a little digging (and I did a lot of digging!) the U model this purports to be is a newly intoduced series and although not the flagship L series it should have upscaling ability. The manufacturing date was Sept 2015. Made in S Korea but 'assembled in Turkey' ?
Seems good value at price. Dont know why Agros appear to be the sole retailer of this U series.

i was going to buy the tv Toshiba 48U7653DB 48 Inch 4K Ultra HD 3D Smart TV.i ordered it on friday but after reading these post was suspicious i now noticed the ad had changed on argos website to Toshiba 48U7653DB 48 Inch 4K Ultra HD Smart TV.no mention of 3D. i read Chrisdocherty91 revue and thought ok ill try that so i went to a store and spoke to a manager he was very defensive and said no mention of glasses or 3d in all his adverts i said it was advertised on the web site thats why i reserved it he said can't find any advert did you photo copy it.. i did not so he said sorry nothing i can do and it is not even a 3D tv anyway so i refused to buy it and left a very unhappy chappie

ok thanks will give them a call.
My review for the tv...its great for the price, picture is very good and sound is better than our other flat screen so no complaints. I think getting a soundbar with any tv these days is a must to get great sound quality anyway.

I purchased this lastnight and its great, sound is Also decent if you got it from Argos but didn't get the glasses it's because it's a mistake on their website and you will be given an eBay listing to purchase and collect from Argos which they will refund the cost of

I bought an lg.50 " 4 k up scaler from argos 2 weeks ago ,the picture was absolutely shocking .it was much much worse than my old samsung hd tV so took it back to walisdown branch and was told by the lady on the customer desk that she couldn't accept it as I didn't have a code from their telephone service. So I asked if she could give me their no but she said they are shut.I then took it to castle point and they gave me a refund with no problem. walisdown branch is a right mess go somewhere else.

Was gonna get one ,but put off by no details about up scaling of pictures to UHD .
Also looks like it's made by vestel and rebadged as Toshiba ,as there are no details about it on Toshiba s own web site .

If anyone wants one in Liverpool I ordered one from Norris green last night but realised I'd got wrong store so reserved another at my local store. Just picked it up. If anyone wants the reserve code to get the one reserved at £479 in Liverpool let me know.
On page 17, seems like from FHD to 4K supports only 30Hz ?

This looks like a better deal for a similar spec than this one. It's also got great reviews. Trying to understand why it's only got 77 degrees though?
Almost every TV these days needs a soundbar / soundbase to accompany it unless in a very small space.. (ie less than 4 ft from the tv)
Also looks like it's made by vestel and rebadged as Toshiba ,as there are no details about it on Toshiba s own web site .

The TV has 1 scart, 1 component, 1 VGA, 4 HDMI & 3 USB.
Thanks for using Argos Q&A.
