This is the best price that I've yet seen for The Witcher III - which is easily one of the best games this year!

Dedicated to gamers who want more from physical box editions of games than just the disc and manual, containing premium items prepared by the developers, this edition of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is the definitive answer for those gamers who want to enter the Witcher universe with style.
The Game.
An exclusive CD with the official soundtrack.
The official, developer-created "Witcher Universe - The Compendium".
A beautiful, detailed map of the in-game world.
A set of unique The Witcher 3 stickers.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is a story-driven, next-generation open world role-playing game, set in a graphically stunning fantasy universe, full of meaningful choices and impactful consequences. In The Witcher, you play as Geralt of Rivia, one of a dying caste of monster hunters, and embark on an epic journey in a war-ravaged world that will inevitably lead you to confront a foe darker than anything humanity has faced so far—the Wild Hunt.
The world burns as the Empire of Nilfgaard pierces through the heart of the kingdoms in the north. Geralt of Rivia is pursued by an enemy devoid of mercy—the Wild Hunt, a mythical cavalcade of ghastly riders, harbingers of doom and destruction, capable of destroying entire settlements overnight. Driven by a deeply personal agenda, Geralt must navigate a maze of hostile forces to find and protect the one described in an ancient prophecy. Gritty and merciless, the world the adventure plays out in sets new standards in terms of size, ecosystem complexity and meaningful non-linearity. Experience realistic day and night cycles, observe weather changes that influence gameplay, and conquer the lush environment using arcane witcher lore.
Evolve unique witcher skills to tailor gameplay to your liking; hunt bloodthirsty monsters and develop your signature fighting strategies; use potent battle magic, and slay your way to victory in a truly limitless open world. Stroll, swim, ride and sail; embark on legendary quests and collect epic bounties. Take control: go anywhere, do anything!

I've just bought this for myself for christmas. My back log is disgustingly huge, I've got W1 and W2 on Steam and haven't even started them. I haven't finished GTA 5 or Arkham Knight. I haven't started the Uncharted collection or MGSV. Even Wolfenstien is still sealed. I get home from work and sit looking at the TV, the web or mindlessly play F1 2015 or Fifa. What the hell is going on. Am I the only one..?

This, by a *very* long way. It's a better game and, as a bonus, is about half the price.
After buying this, the Hearts of Stone expansion (or the Expansion Pass) should be your very next purchase. Once you're done with these, then would be the time to start thinking about Fallout 4.

I understand what you're saying but they're just so easy to just boot up and mindlessly play. I can't be bothered to have to keep up with plots and storylines.. Which is incredibly lazy I know.. I do WANT to get into these games, They're obviously superb, I just have no motivation, lol

Cracking price! Well worth it and plenty of game play. If your a fan of Baldur's Gate / Neverwinters Night then you will really enjoy it!
Nearly 1000?? Come on. What's with the Black Friday hysteria. This deal would have reached the dizzy heights of about 387 on any other week - as proven when you look at the date it was originally posted. What will happen when someone posts this game for £21.89 next week. 15000 degrees perhaps?

I bought Witcher 3 when this Zavvi deal started.. installed it, downloaded the patch... then played Metal Gear Solid... Witcher 3 is still in the box... I just got Fallout 4 too.. on the flipside I traded in Batman Arkham Knight!

You're certainly not the only one with a backlog. :stuck_out_tongue:
You're not helping yourself with F1 or FIFA, though - and there are *much* better experiences out there if you put those down and explore a bit more widely

I feel much better for reading your post... I thought I was the only person - I still have my PS3 with GTA untouched... Batman on my PS4 is like about 10% completed... and I just bought Metal Gear Solid... on the flip side I did just complete the game 'The Last of Us'... but me completing a game nowadays is a rarity.... like yourself FIFA gets a lot of play!

That's how Zavvi originally reported this, but they quite regularly have 'limited-time' offers that turn out to last for longer. No bad thing, of course! I'd suggest the opposite :wink:Fallout 4 will be better once it's been patched a few times and will fall in price before too long, so is the better candidate for waiting before buying/playing.

Massive amount of content for such a low price. Great game that will honestly keep you entertained for hours. Try and do the side bits along with the story otherwise you can feel a bit bored after it (Made that mistake with my first play through). Expansion is also excellent value and another one is on the way. Must buy and heat added for this!

One of the many great things about The Witcher 3 (especially compared to the prior two games) is that it's a lot easier to get into. Including that the story gets going really quickly and is really easy to keep track of. I didn't care for the Witcher 2 at all - found it clunky and boring. This is exponentially better, and even though I thought I'd have loads of lore/story gaps, the game does a great job of filling those across the campaign and using the excellent glossary.
I'm playing Dragon Age Inquisition at the moment and can't help compare it (unfavourably) to the Witcher in almost every way.

So much game for the money. Incredible variety of locations to explore, the only shame for me is that the vast majority of NPCs have nothing to say for themselves other than repeated stock lines, there aren't a huge number of people you can interact with other than merchants and quest-givers. And prostitutes.

I was thinking the same. guessing witcher 3 as it's cheaper and once completed, fallout 4 will be cheaper. plus in a month or two, they will iron out most bugs in fallout 4.
personally it's a shame I don't have more time, as one of these games is so big I probably never finish. so strangely I'd probably give both a miss and pick up just cause 3, as I know I have a chance to complete that. too many games and not enough hours.

+1 I'd say about 4 - 5 years ago as a teen, Fifa used to be my main game which I would play, ultimate team would often make me angry too haha. Definitely enjoying my gaming time more now. Playing a lot of indies (ps plus) and great story driven games. The backlog won't get better if you are spending majority of your time with games such as FIFA & F1. Although I say this, do what makes you happy bro.

Time-sink - well yes, I suppose, in that there's a huge amount of content here if you want it. However, very importantly, it's *not* repetitive and the game world is the most and best fleshed-out that I've experienced in a very long time, if ever. I'd urge you to try it, I doubt that you'd regret it.

fallout is not my cup of tea but could never understand the hype it looked like fallout 3.5 with no big steps forward.
MGS5 has been my favourite current gen game, great game engine and gameplay but let down by story and also the mission set up after act 1.
From what i have seen TW3 deserves to win game of the year, i normally hate rpg's way to much of a time sink and a repetitive bore for me but TW3 does seem like it's a very good game i might have to try it in a month or so if i have the time

Hmmm... how about putting the FIFA and F1 discs somewhere to the other side of your house/flat from your console? Or even giving them to a trusted friend/family member for a while? Make it harder for yourself to play them at a moment's notice, so that temptation is avoided!
