Hot find, might dip in for this despite the mixed reviews.
Does the game require any DLC code or anything in the box like some games? It's Ubisoft so I imagine it has some hidden stuff to prevent pre-owned copies getting the most out of it :disappointed:

I played it around launch last year and no there were no codes for online access. There is micro-transactions in the form of in-game currency, but I got by fine without paying for anything. It does make unlocking cars a bit slower than it really has to be, but for a fiver I've bought it again for another run through.
Treat it like a B-list Need for Speed and you can get some enjoyment out of it.

Make sure you play once the latest patch is installed, it has a huge graphics update and looks a helluva lot better than how it launched.
Also, if you struggle with the handling make sure to do afew tweaks in the settings to suite your style. The graphics and handling were alot of the negatives when released but both have been addressed and it looks much crisper.
IIRC I logged around 250 hours on this and had a blast, really enjoyed it.

Its online only sure, and its a little micro transaction heavy, but its a fun racing game. I've played it more than the last 2 NFS I had (Rivals/Most Wanted) and more than Forza Horizon 2, it was just easy to bomb around, race, do challenges etc
