This is a great Xmas Cake and the one I have been buying for the past few years. At 50% off it is a real bargain.
- It is over 2lbs in weight so nice and big.
- I open it carefully a week or two before Christmas and use a little skewer to make little holes in the underneath side then sprinkle some brandy or whisky or rum over it and keep it re-wrapped carefully in an airproof container.
- I add more booze every few days so a total of about 3 times!
You may wish to avoid driving after eating more than a small slice!
:-)
It is only £5 – a chunky 50% off – from tomorrow for a limited time

I picked one up today, a full shelf n the Poole store. A bit smaller than I hoped, but still got it, six slices is more realstic not 16. |The price was £5 on a standard white label, no sign that this was a reduced price.

it was marked on the shelf at tescos Fforest Fach swansea at full price but scanned at a fiver. I did get one but was smaller than I imagined....as for for serving 16 well you would end up with a wafer thin slice!!

Carry on making your own, it will be way better, though at this price, buy one as well and give it a try! Who knows it may be surprisingly good!

Part of the game they play with high calorie foods to make the calories per serving look marginally less ridiculous, knowing that each person will in reality have at least 2 or 3 of these "servings".
Added to the shopping list!

I really enjoy Christmass, 2 grandchildren (Nuisances) 3 children (bigger Nuisances) and a wide range of my favourite festive foods amongst which is rich fruit cake, I always wait till towards the end of the Ripoff price season and then stock up on some of the Luxury type fruit logs cakes, stick them in a tin sellotape rtound them and they will last as long as I can resist opening them.
