All time low I believe with the next lowest price recorded at £8.74.

Thanks for this - I've been waiting for it to go on sale somewhere.
It's a steam key by the way. Also, remember that if you have a Uplay account with at least 100 "units", you can exchange them for a 20% off voucher at the Ubisoft Club website (making it £4.20)

Just to dispel some of this misinformation:
You will NOT need to run uPlay to play this title. It doesn't use the Ubisoft DRM. Ubi act as a third party seller in this case. So when you launch the game from Steam, nothing else apart from the game itself loads
Also, it is worth noting that once you have added the game to your Steam account, you can log in to http://doom.com/en-gb/alpha/steam with your Steam account to sign up to the alpha / beta for the new DOOM game.

Thanks OP. I've been waiting awhile for this. Purchased easily as I already had a uPlay account and then just activated using the supplied key with Steam. Taking ages to download though :-(

I'm not doubting it, but I can't see why this game would have the uPlay overlay? It's not a Ubisoft title.

Are you guessing? Or is this the process that you go through to play this game?
MrCollective
25 Nov 15#14
Yes, its classed as double DRM, you will open the game in Steam which uses the Steam Key, once the game has started you will be prompted to login to your Uplay account. If you buy it from other sellers you wont need to login to Uplay. The same goes for Farcry 3, I purchased Farcry and recieved a Steam key but had to login to Uplay once the game starts.

The game on your Uplay account would be assigned to that Steam Key, so they would need to login with your account details for Uplay either way. So you would have Steam DRM & Uplay DRM. Either way you will need to use your Uplay account details.
Read that back to myself and It sound terrible.

How does it work then? Do my uplay and steam account have to use the same email address? Are they linked somehow?

No, Its doesn't work like that.

So since it's a steam key, I could buy it with my uplay account and gift the steam key to someone else?
