It’s the kind of town where you dig your own grave prior to being shot in the head and left for dead…and that’s before things really get ugly. It’s a town of dreamers and desperados being torn apart by warring factions vying for complete control of this desert oasis. It’s a place where the right kind of person with the right kind of weaponry can really make a name for themselves, and make more than an enemy or two along the way.
As you battle your way across the heat-blasted Mojave Wasteland, the colossal Hoover Dam, and the neon drenched Vegas Strip, you’ll be introduced to a colorful cast of characters, power-hungry factions, special weapons, mutated creatures and much more. Choose sides in the upcoming war or declare “winner takes all” and crown yourself the King of New Vegas in this follow-up to the 2008 videogame of the year, Fallout 3.
Enjoy your stay.

Can anyone provide a list of must have mods to use with new vegas and FO3? nothing that completely changes the core game, but things like improving balance/quirks/experience and textures etc..
Amazing games. Fallout 3 is hard to get working on Windows 10 though. I think people have got it working but it crashes for me when I go to start a new game. "Tale of two wastelands" mod is supposed to fix the issues, but you need F3 and NV to make it work and I'm primarily a console gamer. I just got 3 on steam cheap and felt like a replay.

No but NV doesn't require as much fixing as 3, and with the tutorials for 3 you learn how to use the fallout mod manager so you should be able to just grab the texture packs (this is from memory, been quite a few months since I modded mine).
np  I advise doing things in the order he has or things can go wrong fast!

I might be being thick, but how do I get my steam code once I've paid? My German isn't as good as it once was...

This is from memory but there is a big button which says something random which doesn't look like it's going to give you the key but it actually does lol, sorry I can't be more help but hopefully you will see what I mean!

Am I right in thinking that these cant be played through windows 7 without tweaking system files etc?
Anybody able to comment whether the addon content is worth playing for New Vegas? Or is there more fun to be had in just buying the standard game and modding it?

The DLC content is extremely good and and some of the popular mods require all of the DLC. So definitely go for the ultimate edition. I have hundreds of hours in this game and keep going back. At £3.59 it's exceptionally good value.

I just finished a completionist, hardcore mode playthrough of New Vegas, including all DLC and all endings. It clocked in at over 200 hours (hard to say exactly, because of having to reload previous saves to do different missions to get the different endings, and also the in-game clock doesn't count any time from dying and reloading, which happened a lot!). So if you were to do that with both 3 and New Vegas there would literally not be enough time between now and the release of 4!

It's the nmc texture pack you want, it has instructions inside it depending on the quality you want to go for. I would follow the tutorials for 3 first though so you learn how to use the mod manager and get the hang of it
