Owning all the other games shouldn't be a reason to vote this cold. Sure, a lot of players who buy Arkham Knight will have played the rest of the series before, but this is a really good time to buy for someone who has never played the franchise before, especially with the incentive of the entire series for under £10.

Decent touch IMO. Though I suspect most people who paid full price for Knight will already own all the other games!! I will get Blackgate out of it at least. Already own the others.
Absolute bargain for anyone who doesn't own any of them to date however! Start with Asylum, and by the time you've worked through all the others Arkham Knight might actually be fixed
Looks like Asylum GOTY, City GOTY, Origins + all available DLC & Origins Blackgate deluxe

Hot! Loved this game and glad its back on the shelves, easily the best Arkham game by a country mile. I run a 970, 8gb ram, I7 and performance is excellent with butter smooth framerates.
I think people need to give WB a break. The game was released in a poor state but they have done their best to fix it. If they truly didnt care about PC gamers then surely they would have left it as it was. Obviously a small minority will still moan but thats just they way some people are wired.
At £11.99 this is a steal and the additional games make it a no brainer. Hot!

Had Steam refunds not been a thing (which ended up costing WB money, hence the removal), it would likely have stayed for months in its broken state. You only have to look at the previous title, Origins, to see what WB response would have been. When it faced performance issues and a game breaking bug, their response was that they were too busy working on DLC...
Which is funny, as according to Eurogamer's Digital Foundry, basically the only changes they found between the September patch and the patch for relaunching on Steam was getting the DLC up to date. :/

you're probably right for most but i have a really poorly zoostorm i3. Since paying more attention to of builds i found the hdd is utter garbage and takes about 4mins for windows to boot up to usable. So the 16gb helped me loads playing BAK. I'm halfway to a i5 build hence the ram so will see how things fair then.

That's why then  Your pagefile is on the SSD which is fine performance wise. That's why you're not seeing any serious issues. I don't like having my pagefile on an SSD because it can wear it out quickly especially in your situation using so much of it.
If the OS was on an HDD with the pagefile, the game would most likely perform terrible.
Thanks for the image. It's a good indication why people misinterpret "Memory used" as in your case you would think your system + game only needs 6.3GB of RAM but technically more like 12GB virtual address space.

SSD for OS, games are on HDD
rev6
29 Oct 15#59
> 12GB RAM is probably best looking at that screenshot for the best experience. It really depends how optimized the game is. RAM is always better than pagefile for games. You're using almost 6GB of pagefile. What drive have you got running the OS?

Pagefile is the same as swapfile, it uses storage (HDD/SSD) to store virtual address space.
Are you running Windows 10?
If you have the time, screenshot this part of your Task Manager after playing the game for a few minutes (not the loading screen). It'll be interesting to see how much virtual address space is used on your system.

They also said that win10 users need at least 12gb of ram to fix the jittery issues. I was sitting on 16gb from another hukd so i popped it in and gave it a shot and yep it runs fairly smoothly with my i3 gtx650ti.

This is worth buying before the above date if you have a Mac as the Arkham Knight will be released as a "SteamPlay" title (which means it will be available for Mac and Linux). You'll get to play Batman: Arkham Asylum GOTY, Batman Arkham City GOTY, Batman Arkham Knight on your Mac and the rest of the Batman franchise if you're running Bootcamp with Windows.

i have a 980ti, flicked it on last night, the section was indoors (not tried outdoors) and it was comfortably hitting 90fps maxed out (gameworks off) @ 1440p. Need to try again with the fps cap off and see how it performs outdoors which is where the fps took a battering (heh)
haven't played it but seen a review update that said it has windows 8 and 10 issues and on a gtx 980ti it had a frame rate between 40-90 with big frame rate drops.

There is a lot of anger from those who bought the game originally, and now see this as a further insult. However, this IS a deals site, and for those of us who don't have the games, it is an extremely hot deal. it shouldn't be voted down due to anger at the publisher.

can anyone explain why (i think its Arkham Origins) displays the character left to the centre making it extremely annoying/awkward to play? It irritated me so much i uninstalled the game and never touched it since.
Persona_
28 Oct 15#12
Depends... I was a day one player and completed it by day 2. Played on a gtx 970 and its was mostly 60 in indoor sections of the game with some variances outdoors, especially when driving and flying around the city, but still very playable. For me the experience would actually be better than if i got it on ps4 because without those frame rate hitches the frame rate was still at 60 for combat sequences and stealth etc. So if you have a good enough gpu it was still a good experience on pc from day one, but unfortunately not the case for a large proportion of the pc community who have mid range/low end hardware.

Not to mention you can now buy it cheaper even on the steam store than the people who pre-ordered it on steam, and still get the "thank you" gifts. The people who bought it months ago get nothing extra than people who buy it now.
Downloading it again now to see if it's actually fixed. Ended up playing the entire game through on my PS4 and to be honest is was pretty brilliant. Only 30fps but at least it was solid as a rock.

Greetings Batman: Arkham Fans!
The PC version of Batman: Arkham Knight is back up and available today! We are genuinely thankful to the Batman: Arkham fans, the Steam Batman: Arkham Community, and the PC Players who have patiently waited for this day. As a show of our appreciation to our fans in this process, we are pleased to announce three community focused programs to help us commemorate the re-launch of the game.
To kick things off, we will be giving away FREE digital copies of games from the Batman: Arkham library. This means we will be giving away copies of Batman: Arkham Asylum GOTY, Batman: Arkham City GOTY, Batman: Arkham Origins, and Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate. The Batman: Arkham library of games will be given to everyone who has already purchased or will purchase Batman: Arkham Knight for PC prior to 11:59 pm PDT, November 16, 2015. We’re actively working with our partners at Valve to make this happen as soon as we can, so watch your Steam Library. We are aiming to deliver all of the games by December.
Seeing as our community was a great help in getting the game up and running, Rocksteady will be creating a new "Community Challenge Pack” that will be given free to owners of the Batman: Arkham Knight game in January 2016. As thanks to the Steam Community, PC players will have access to the maps for a week before they hit the consoles. Stay tuned for more details on this in the Batman: Arkham Community and Social Channels.
Finally, we are thrilled to announce that we are working with Valve and the Team Fortress 2 team for a special cross-game promotion. Through November 16, 2015, Valve will be running a contest for the Steam community to create Batman: Arkham themed cosmetic items for Team Fortress 2. The winning items will be given out to those who purchased Batman: Arkham Knight on Steam before the end of the contest. You can check out the official TF2 blog[www.teamfortress.com] for all the contest details!
To recap, if you own Batman: Arkham Knight for PC or purchase it before November 16, 2015, you will get:
Free digital copies of games from the Batman: Arkham library.
The "Community Challenge Pack” DLC.
The Batman: Arkham inspired Team Fortress 2 items created by the Batman: Arkham community.
Opening post
Get the entire Batman: Arkham series with Batman: Arkham Knight!
