Hot on the heels of their recent " buy one get another free" promotion last weekend, Starbucks are doing half price Festive Favourites today and tomorrow. ( Friday 20th & Saturday 21st Nov) between 12-4pm (at Participating Stores).
Not sure how to find a comprehensive list of "participating stores" but no doubt someone will!

Sorry run that by me again? If it's such bad quality coffee then why go every week? If it was that bad I wouldn't drink it, free or not!

Depends what one you go for. If you have a small one with sugar free syrup and skimmed milk you can easily get it down to around 50 cal

I would never pay £4, the same price as a pint of beer any day of the year lol, my nescafe is fine
monkeyhanger75 to clemo1981
20 Nov 151#46
And you know that the £4 pint is costing £4 because the taxman is getting a decent wedge of that £4.
Beer drinkers in the pub generally look far happier than those coffee shop patrons you see through the window when walking past one of the chain coffee shops.

Fair enough. I don't have sugar in my coffee either. One lot of Syrup is ok, my dentist prefers me to have the sugar free version though !

20 Nov 151#39
No, surprised by how much sweeter it makes it, and they don't always tell you that it's a syrup they're adding, a flavouring isn't necessarily sweet.

The starbucks facebook page says :
All our company owned stores will be running this promotion..
Whatever that means.

There might be franchise stores that they don't directly own that choose not to run the offer.

Means, not the franchise stores (e.g. ones at train stations etc.)

Well, because its free. Maybe I'm addicted to caffiene. Maybe I like the way it makes my wee come thick and fast.
I very often drink it for free and think "can't believe people pay for this".
Funnily enough though I went in the other day to get my free cup and there was a queue, and I thought to myself 'Do I really want to queue for a substandard coffee'. The answer was no so I left the store.
Essentially, as soon as it began to cost me something (my time) I disappeared out of there.

Completely agree! If there was a loop hole which allowed me to not pay income tax I would certainly take it! I could do with extra cash as I'm moving home!

20 Nov 151#21
How are you supposed to know which ones are franchise stores? Do you just go in, order the coffee and then wait to see how much they charge you?
EDIT: Damn, beaten to it by a whisker. Damn you, Ashamuk, damn you I say.
Youngy to Buddie1877

If they take payment using Starbucks card it means they honour deals etc. It's generally branches inside hotels or department stores that don't.
These are just flavoured syrups and squirty cream. A warning to those like me who don't take sugar in coffee, that the syrups make them sickly sweet, to me undrinkable.
shakerstevens to Thoughtful

Your surprised that adding a syrup to something makes it sweeter?

they have always paid tax, its just that some people who don't have a clue about tax laws think they should pay more and moan at the companies for not paying it when the government wont change the laws. Bet you only pay the tax you have to.

Well it all depends what size & extras you add, but a large drink with whipped cream and an extra shot can easily set you back the best part of £4, so £2 seemed an appropriate price to enter!
