Most who wanted this amiibo probably already own it but Nintendo Store has it on pre-order for £10.99 and will be released on November 17.
This amiibo unlocks a really cool gear in Splatoon so worth getting for that if you didn't already unlocked it by now.

Got the problem with payment email as well. They have probably not got enough stock to honour all of the orders so they are using this BS excuse.

Don't bother ringing nintendo they claim it's down to the paypal account used to pay the order which is utter rubbish, for us to contact the nintendo store web team as they can't give any further info, ordered this and modern mario received the mario but this was pending and now this.

That's not too bad but Coolshop's known to use jiffybags for collector's items. Maybe they've improved since then.
Three great games, and you can play Mario Kart & Yoshi's Woolly World with her, if you're into gaming at all. Hope she loves it, roll on Christmas morning!

Do you need the Amiibo every time you want to do the challenges or is it a one time unlock?
Gamer_U to crafton
9 Nov 15#21
To play the challenges again you do need the amiibo but the rest, i.e, gear/weapon/mini-game they all stay unlocked once you've done it the first time. I had Squid's amiibo for a day, unlocked the challenges and then returned it to the store because that's all I wanted the amiibo for.

Godamnit NOW it shows up. I thought it was never gonna be a solo run so got one from ebay since mine was part of the GAME stolen shipment.

I don't buy into the "special edition" thing so tend to ignore them and nothing I saw, including the official e-mail from Nintendo, mentioned it was the only version and that availability was genuinely limited. I guess it could have seen as disingenuous given the typical "special edition" advertising strategy but if Nintendo had made a point of it I would have taken notice. In my opinion they screwed it up and there are probably many people who would happily pay £30 - £40 for a physical copy who won't be able to give them money. Their loss.

I've just bought this one so I'll see how it gets used before I go buying anymore, got her Yoshis wooly world and mario kart as well as splatoon so no doubt I'll end up buying more after Christmas .. Thanks

Found it for £66.73 on Amazon Spain through the seller Bitmania but £66 is still above of what it originally was priced. I in fact got it for £40 and £43 so logically £50-60+ are too much in my opinion.
P.S. I remember posting Project Zero for £43 and it lasted like 3 days or so and even then people voted it cold as if.

Gamer_U to claire7519

You can use it on Splatoon to unlock 20 challenges which will grant you a suit, weapon and mini-game while on Yoshi's Woolly World you can use Squid's costume to play as.

they can be used in various games. We have four amiibo in our house, you can train them up in Smash Bros. for Wii U, in Mario Kart some amiibo will unlock racing outfits for your Mii to wear, in Yoshi's Woolly World they unlock knitting patterns for the Yoshi's, Super Mario Maker uses them in a neat way and in Splatoon these particular amiibo give you extra challenges, I believe which can get you exclusive armour, though I may be wrong there. They're not really essential but we've enjoyed them over multiple games, even if it's just a fun extra.

I didn't even realise it was "special edition" only and wasn't in a tremendous rush to buy it because I like to pick up games after a few month. Now I want a copy for a present, Game let me down despite listing it in stock (surprise surprise) so I basically can't buy it. I suppose it's something that it was released in the EU at all given the small fan base but I won't be purchasing it from scalpers or digitally.
Gamer_U
9 Nov 15#10
The European USK copy has a UPC code so there's definitely a possibility of a regular release and this is a game worth owning. All depends if Nintendo is willing to give it said release.
Btw, the American gamers aren't very happy they were shunned from getting a physical release.

it came back in stock on game and Nintendo store for a full week after it came out. No chance of a normal edition release. USA are only getting digital only!

Hopefully they'll do the same for Project Zero: Maiden of Black Water and release the game as a regular edition. I seriously can't find any retailer still selling PZ:MoBW for £50-60 the scalpers have took it up to £90+.
