Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100, HD 1080p, 20.2MP, 3.6x Optical Zoom, 3” LCD Screen plus free official Sony case
£271 - £30 Sony cashback = £241
- 2% Topcashback = £236
This offer has been posted before for Currys, however Jessops are now including a free official Sony case model LCJ-RXF worth £79, that makes this a cracking deal if you're looking for the camera and case too.
There are currently 4 versions of this camera, this is the MK1 model but that doesn't mean it's not worth buying, it's an amazing camera and fantastic value for the price and with the free case designed specifically for the RX100 it's a steal. I have one of these myself unfortunately I've killed it after soaking it in seawater and the fact that I'm looking to replace it with exactly the same camera should be a good testament to how good it is.
** Update ** I requested a price match from Jessops as suggested but they said no.

I'm hoping for double cashback on the M3. Although this price for the M1 with £60 cashback is very enticing. Heat added.

Looks like the cashback *has* gone up to £60. However, the free case has gone. Swings and roundabouts.

This, or A5000? For holiday snaps.

The A5000 is bigger, but if you are just using the kit lens, it will have very similar performance.
If you intend to buy other lenses, the A5000 is obviously the way to go. There is an ancient Minolta AF 4/70-210 that works well with an adapter, for example, or the amazing 1.8/50.

According to Sony website this qualifies for £60 cashback? Sony Cashback.
SLRHUt also have it for £239.99 and despite them soliciting mixed opinions eglobal Central have it for £212.99

They are a fantastic camera. I use the MK2 as my primary underwater camera (same lens and sensor), and have taken some amazing shots with it.

Is this better than a compact point and shoot type? I have a Sony HX60 with 30x for a lot cheaper than this.

Yes, it has a 1" sensor, which is about twice as large as the typical compact camera sensor. That means it makes better pictures especially in pour light, and has more blurring in out of focus areas.

Shame it is not the RX10... that would be tempting me.
Remember that you can get a full CSC with APS sensor for this price. Sure, it is not as compact, but much more flexible.

True but this is roughly on a par with CSC with APS sensor when using kit lens (at least at wide angle) as the faster and superior lens on this negates the advantage of a larger sensor. Put a prime lens on CSC and it will out performs this by some margin, but a lot of people just stick with the kit zoom lens. In that scenario this camera is better because it is lighter and more compact so you are more likely to take it with you and the results are about the same.

EUR 319.99 from Amazon.it - GBP 234 including P&P if you use Amazon's currency converter and a lot cheaper if you get spot rate. No forms to fill for cashback.
I have the mk3 and rarely use the evf. Sony changed the lens between mk2 and mk3, so that's worth considering. But otherwise this looks like an excellent price for a top quality compact camera.
I use it as a light camera to carry with me all the time, with a Nikon D610 as my main camera.

Nice camera and seems like a good price.
I'd really like the Mk4 version though for the nice evf as I prefer to have one of those but the price on that is still sky high!

Jessops might price match. Advertised on their website. Then an even better price with cash back.

Also £239.95 with no cashback needed at UK Digital Cameras. Legit EU stock - been using them for years and bought this exact camera there last week. Now I have 24 hours to learn how to use it before I go on holiday!
