It's a shame your reading old reviews and haven't actually used one with the latest update (Youview).
Off that bandwagon please, thank you! I and many others are pleased with our purchases....
I have the Sony 49x8309 for your information.

As someone who works at a Currys. It's a barcode we scan and it doesn't work unless the tv is worth 1000 or more. Not the bundle with the bar on it.

I'm thinking to order the z5 premium from carphone warehouse and then I could claim a £200 off voucher.. Wondering if I could use that too with the code?

Totally agree I swapped the 55X8509C for a Panny CX802 huge difference in quality and am now very happy with having a functioning set!
Link can work if you add the Soundbar as a bundle and then it will change to £999

I have the 49inch version and it is flawed with problems.... I am trying to return it to Sony after they have failed to fix the problems (I think most of them ate software related)... Lots of people are all having the same issue - check out the Sony forum if you want some real horror stories. https://community.sony.co.uk/t5/televisions/2015-bravia-android-tv-issues/m-p/2055562#M35883

Thanks Mike. Thinking twice about buying now. What are your specific software issues, lag?

okay where to begin....1) the free sound bar is so tall it covers the ir receiver on the TV (plus it sounds crap). 2) the TV reboots itself even now and then for no reason. 3) you sometimes turn it on and get a sound but now picture 4)lip sync issues when (if) you chromecast / youtube. 5) can't have sat tuner and rf tuner running \ installed at the same time (it's either or). 6) No HD recording yet (and it will be very restricted when does it come). 7)YouView sucks - very slow...... apart from those few issues the picture is great. it's also worth mentioning that lots of people who purchased the TV had emails from Sony asking them to fill out reviews.... anyone who put anything negative had emails back from Sony saying that there comments didn't meet the guidelines (blah, blah blah) and the review rejected.... all of the remaining (positive filtered) reviews then end up on sonys and the likes of Argos.... I believe a forum member is trying to take this matter to an external watchdog

Yep I returned mine too, there are more issues besides those as well eg you can't get 5.1 audio from most of the apps, it randomly crashes from time to time, and slows down over the course of using it until you reboot it. Sometimes you can't turn it off and you have to unplug it from the mains (there is no physical off switch at least on the sets I've used)

I just got this tv and updated to youview and it's very laggy also it has lip sync issues with sound I'm going to be returning tv, I guess this is the reason why it's so cheap I'm going to pay more and get a Samsung at least it's realible

I bought the 55 inch today and wireless soundbar instore for £979.99, it was £1144.99 but the 10% code would not work so they overrided and gave me £115 discount and then a furthur £50 for O2 priority. Happy days for me :-)
