it is a good camera ,but i sold mine and got the next model up the A5100. Only reason is because the screen is really poor and grainy on the a5000, just couldnt live with it.

If I wasn't specifically after an a5100 (for the a6000 performance yet to be slightly more pocketable as my a7ii is my main camera) I would've snapped this up!
Mirror less is the future and Canikon fanboys will agree once Canikon give in and switch fully too.
You want proof? Look at the A7Rii and see how many long term Canikon users (pros too!) are finally giving in

Been a long time fan of the NEX series, can't get my head around why anyone would say the IQ is bad when the sensor in this is top quality and Sony have made a name for themselves for making great cameras across the range.
My NEX 3 has great build quality, and has taken great pictures. It's incredible when paired with Minolta glass.
Heat, but I'd personally want a viewfinder to make it worth the upgrade

Just a heads up - Black Friday is just around the corner, and usually the A5100 goes for pretty cheap then too (~£200 at Amazon)
**Never mind, my one cost £299 last year - great deal OP**

Would be all over this had I not picked up a Panasonic GF7 for £200 during the eBay madness last week.

nothing hot about this, if it would be a5100 than it would be hot! This is just a cheaply made camera with not that good image quality for the price. How do I know this? I had the stupidity to buy this thinking at least it will be very portable and thinking it will have the same image quality as my d3200 ,how wrong i was.., luckily I sold it on to some sucker
To be honest if you are coming from smartphone camera- than yes it will be hell a lot better, it also has super fast autofocus and again the pictures aren't bad compared to smartphone/regular point&shoot.

It does have the same IQ as d3200, infact it's just as good my 5200, including dynamic range.
It is pretty cheaply built so they can price it like this.. and has tii few buttons options and menus but it's the smallest 'proper' camera i've had or seen. The lens is awesome too (16mm too which makes sooo much difference).
Very usable camera though, I have it as spare/quadcopter camera.
Just felt obliged to comment after seeing someone say "pictures aren't bad compared to smartphone/regular point&shoot."

Totally talking out of your rear!
This will equal the IQ from most sub £500 SLR's and for £218 you find me a better camera?!
Pathetic assessment of a cracking buy! The included kit lens alone costs more than this deal so it's essentially a free camera!

if you have a D3200 anything in the same price range is a side step unless you want to sell it for this because it is a smaller size. if you want earth shattering difference you will need to go full frame.

As others have said, what rubbish. You either had a faulty camera or are just wrong.
Takes fantastic photos, fits in a blokes back pocket or handbag. This is about 50 quid more than the Sony store refurbs though, which were a better bargain imo! But still a good deal. If you find you take most photos 'zoomed out' there's a 16mm pancake lens which makes it even smaller.

Good price if you missed the cash back a few months ago. Don't know why this isn't HOT!
