I've just ordered one of these. For £2.63 it will be interesting to see how good this works. Seems to have good reviews on the site. Here is the site info:
Works On Win98/ ME/ 2000/ 2003/ XP/ Vista/Windows7/8
Works on All Mac Operating Systems
Cord is approx. 9 ft. Long
Plug and Play, no extra drivers needed
Some reviews say that it works on Windows 10.

I don't know if these are the same ones, but i've ordered cheap ones from China recently and they feel like something sweets might come in.
Actually remind me of this Street Fighter 2 playset I had as a child:

I bought a cheap replica much like this and transplanted its circuit board to an original SNES controller to convert it to USB: works a treat! Only the shoulder button contacts needed soldering.
Very tempted to get this and use it on my phone (via OTG adapter) for Snes9x...
The driverless statement makes me think it'll work in Android too :smirk:

I tried using this on my MXQ android box and it didn't work, Although it did recognise it. I think the box i had was a clone because my xbox pad didn't work on there either. so I am waiting for a new one to arrive. I am pretty sure they should work and i just had a dodgy box.
Three times the price obviously but still only £7.50 and are a genuinely quality item, my lad uses one with his RPi emulators.

For under £3 gonna give this a try, even if just for old emulator SNES games on the laptop. Thanks.

I ordered a couple of these last year from an ebay seller at a slightly cheaper price. They were awful, the directional pad broke on both within a couple of days and the general feel of the pads was cheap.
I ended up buying the Buffalo ones which have lasted a year and are infinity better.

I've got a PS3 USB brandless controller and it works perfectly on the Android TV box that I have so I'd say this one does too. Not sure how they're making profit when they're selling it for £2.63 but who cares.

I have tried a few and I agree, the one you've linked is excellent. Feels exactly the same as the original controller, dpad and buttons work perfectly.
This is not the case for all the USB controllers out there, though I have no idea about this one - I will give it a go.

Ended up getting the Buffalo version instead as I've bought cheap knock-off controllers before and the response times of button presses and cheap feel put me off buying this. Heat for the awareness though.

Quick question. Do you know how long the cable is for this?
I recently scored a box of SNES stuff on fleabay, the pads had bite marks on them. Had to laugh was guilty of that when I was a kid...

I bought a couple for use with Retro Pi on the Raspberry pi, they work a treat, just plug and play..would highly recommend (think mine were about £3 each from ebay but assume they are all made in the same place!) Very nostalgic!

Ditto, the snes ones were about the same price. Grabbed a Saturn one too. Would love to get my hands on an original mega drive 3 buttoner or a converted ps2 pad though it would have to be an original, these things were bloody indestructable, repros just won't have the same armour.)

I can second this. I've tried one of the cheap chinese exports and in the end I gave up and bought two of these bufallo controllers. They're really high quality controllers. Feels just like the original
Sf2rox
4 Nov 15#47
Yep. Mine is detected as a generic USB pad, so technically it should work in most things with a USB port, phones, tablets etc...
Have you tried soucing an brand new original?
Plus i never liked the originals anyway, my first purchase when i got my snes was to get a more comforable 3rd party pad (Competition Pro and a Score stick i believe.)
But for this kind of money who cares? I brought mine for the nostalgic factor... and it works... now I remember why I bought Competiton Pro!

There's no VAT on items below £15 or something around it and import duty isn't charged if it's below £8, so no need to worry about some cheap personal orders.
Chinese sellers usually mark parcels as gift of some tiny value, I've never had to pay any tax on thinks like this.

I had to comment on this , they've been in eBay forever at like £1.79 posted. I've got one and they are poor quality to be fair , step up from icecream tub plastic in feel. You get for what you pay for but don't expect Nintendo build expect pound land.

Meh, these cheap ones are not good, frustrating to use, stiff buttons, missed inputs. Puts strain on the muscles in your hands and can cause sore skin or blistering.
There is a decent USB SNES pad on Amazon that is a bit more expensive (look for one with lots of good reviews), or you can get an adapter to use a real SNES pad.
I gave my cheap pad away to someone I didn't like.

That would be Buffalo then. I got it to replace cheap sticky copy and it's worth extra few pounds.
I used to buy controllers like these for nostalgia but I just prefer using a ps3 controller now, feels better than any of these and is wireless (if you want it to be) Not voted either way as its clearly very cheap and probably decent enough

I am tempted to by one (hot deals disease) but need a game recommendation to use it with.

will this pad (or the buffalo one from Amazon ) work as a controller for playing Minecraft on a PC instead of using a standard mouse)?
No, use the Xbox controllerhttp://www.amazon.co.uk/Official-Xbox-Common-Controller-Windows/dp/B004JU0JSK
