Post Office mobile SIM only deal, 30 day rolling contract, uses the EE network.
Surely the cheapest plan for 2GB of data and decent minute allowance? Only drawback I can see is no 4g. Might be a better deal for those country bumpkins who can't access 4g perhaps...!

Spotted this deal myself. SIM ordered. Seems quite decent for non 4g phone users and those who don't mind EE network. Heat added.

Tried to signup to life mobile earlier, they couldn't even get me started by taking my money, told me it was my bank at fault - it wasn't!

Moved from TPO to the post office last month, smooth transfer over of number (less than 24hrs), decent tariff plus the free credit you get every month acts as bit of a buffer zone. Happy so far.

Buffdude01 the virgin deal is £15.30 a month, it works out to £5.50 by using cash back over the 12 month period. It would then go back up to the full £15.30 after the first year is over.

Not really the same thing at all, as with a contract you get a bill each month and any out of bundle charges get lumped on there (and usually you get credit checked), so potential for an unexpected high bill, with payg it will just use your airtime balance so worst case you'll use any credit you have.

Not really. No Direct Debit, no failed payment charges, no unexpected bills, no credit check, cancellable anytime online or by text without having to call them. The list goes on.

Hey, nice to see folk appreciating the deal :smiley: I see the dreaded Vodafone has been mentioned. I was with them for quite some years and have to say wherever I went in the country, trying to get 3G coverage was virtually impossible. Then went to Virgin who use EE and virtually everywhere I go now, I get 3G.

iD Mobile deal is the same bundle as the £10 PO one posted granted, but for the slight possibility you might get 4G with them, you're stuck on the 3 network and iD mobile have terrible reviews...Potato Patata! I personally think this is the best £10 Sim deal with 2gb of data and 500mins :smiley:

How's the Internet connection with post office? I've got vectone and I'm not that happy with the slow connection at times. Vectone £10 deal that gives unlimited everything uk.

Pretty good actually. I've got my mum one of these SIMs and quite surprisingly the 3G speeds are not far off, or actually on par with the speeds attainable using the 'real' EE.
These SIMs use exactly the same internet APN as EE too, which is 'everywhere' with a username of 'eesecure' and a password of 'secure'. Which probably explains why the speeds are so good and not throttled like Vectone or Delight, who have their own APN settings.

Just so people are aware - Post Office put a content block on their sims for data usage / web browsing
Their FAQs say you can call to get this removed (which would be similar to TalkTalk, GiffGaff ...)
BUT you'll find that you cannot remove the content block
To answer some people's questions - while the bundle will renew automatically, this will only happen if you have sufficient credit and I'm not aware of anyway to top up your credit automatically once a month. So unless you can afford / prefer a bulk top-up, you'll still need to take action on a monthly basis.
This is unlike GiffGaff (if I recall correctly) where the bundle renewed automatically and the money taken from your account automatically - so you want to continue 'as is' no action is needed.

That's a stupid deal. Cashback is via redemption and if you go over your data allowance by as little as one kilobyte you'll get stung with a charge of £6.50. And another £6.50 for every 250MB you go over.
This Post Office SIM is truly PAY AS YOU GO and is not in any way comparable to those Vodafone cashback deals via mobiles.co.uk. No bills, no contract, no hidden charges, no hassle.
A question for current user's. You top up, say £10 and then select your bundle ie £5. It will automatically renew as long as their is credit on the top-up card every 30 days. What happens if you dont and the £10 is used and you leave it, is the sim still active to receive phones calls and text thereafter? Can i just top-up when I need to?

Cant get mine to work on 3G, tried everything, APNs the lot, it works in a 2G phone for calls but put it in a 3G slot and it only has the roaming symbol on. The EE christmas sim works fine in the same slot so dont know whats wrong.

Whenever I recommend a good value PAYG MVNO to friends and family their prices always go up or the allowances go down shortly after I sign them up. Luckily this time the £5 bundle will still suit my mum as her data usage is minimal.
I do hope this isn't the beginning of the end, though. What's next, removal of the double top up offer?

I'm also amazed as to how they've bumped up the price of the 2GB bundle from £10 to £15. That makes it exactly the same as EE's £15 Everything Pack - and given that EE is 4G and the PO is 3G only, it would be insane not to go down the 'real' EE route.
However, granted the £15 bundle from the Post Office has 500 more minutes than the equivalent pack offered by EE, which means the only reason why you'd pick the PO over EE is if you're a heavy talker.

Yes, but you get 300 texts instead of 3000 and 200MB instead of 512MB. The 250 minute allowance remains the same.
