Youll have to install windows 10 upgrade on the existing drive first. Once installed and activated, you can use the windows 10 iso to install a fresh windows 10 on the new drive.

That's odd, no option for free delivery. Am I missing something, shouldn't delivery be included in the OP?
'SANDISK' code works fine but they're asking for £2.98 for their 5 day Supersaver delivery. (£34.96 in total.)

It was a 24HR special and amazon price has gone up. Looks like it's expired.

They're the only company I can think of that still does it. It's part of the UK and almost no delivery compaines including Royal Mail charge extra to deliver here. So what's with the eBuyer extra fee?

Same charges go for all the Scottish islands and for much of the northern mainland too :disappointed:
Unfortunately I didn't find out that bespoke offers was closing before it did close, so I lost a 25-pound voucher. Luckily I had two so I had already managed to get a SanDisk Ultra II SSD for a fiver

120GB £28.47 Flubit.
Sadly Bespoke is finished :disappointed:
Shame as I did prefer them to flubit, along with many HDUK users, even though it was driven by flubit.
Ordered with flubit anyway. Thanks Buzz.

Can anyone advise, I ordered one for my mums laptop - its one of them cheap dells wihtout a dvd drive. In the past I have used a clone dvd to copy the existing files from old harddrive to new SSD.. With this I will struggle, is there a piece of software I can download and run while in windows to copy it to the new one? thanks
There is a bootable CD version, but this is the normal windows version.

Do let us know if flubit give you anything compelling. My lappy is struggling with 250GB and doubling its size would be a nice early Christmas present!

What's with the off key sizes? Why don't they stick to 128GB, 256GB, 512GB etc, instead of 120, 480 and so on.

To be eligible for the free windows 10 upgrade you have to upgrade an existing windows 7 or 8 or 8.1. Once you have done that upgrade windows 10 is activated and locked on your machine. So, even if you install it fresh with a brand new hard drive it recognises and auto activates when it goes on line.
Download the media creation tool, follow the instructions to create a windows 10 usb. When created, run the setup from the usb flash drive from within windows. Follow the process for the upgrade. When upgraded (and activated) turn off computer swap over hard drives and boot the computer off the usb (the options to do so are different for different computers. Then do a windows 10 fresh installation. It will activate when you go online.

I haven't tested this yet, but I believe you can just start the upgrade process, but choose to get the install files on a USB instead of actually upgrading windows on the current drive.
Then you simply install it from that on the new drive. Haven't tested this myself, but have best intentions of doing it in near future.

Currently running 8.1 though, so if I install 10 on the new ssd will i have to format the HDD and re-install everything?

Built my son a pc earlier in the year but boot up speeds are getting a little slower.
Would this 120gb be a decent upgrade?
I was thinking of installing this along side the 1tb hard drive and installing windows 10 onto it.
Does everything on the original hard drive have to be wiped/formatted?

Unplug your existing Hdd, plug this SSD in and install Windows onto it. Then go into the bios and set the SSD as boot drive.
Then when it all logs into Windows, you HDD will show up on 'computer' ...

Next year should see normal SSD's come down in price even more, especially with the (apparently) much faster 3D Xpoint SSD's on the way.

A very decent SSD for the money, also the 120GB one has been slightly cheaper before.
All my neighbours now have 120/240GB Sandisk Plus SSDs in their computers and are very happy with them. :stuck_out_tongue:

Good price. bought one 3 weeks ago at £40 to fit in an old Sony laptop but just couldn't get it to boot every time. Ended up being a 1 in 4 or 5 chance that it would post and boot.
Put a Samsung 840 Evo in there and it worked no problem so I put it down to a controller incompatibility between Sony and Sandisk.
Put the Sandisk in a HP and no problems there at all.
Would still buy again.
