Hi ther is law which is sales of goods act 1979 which gives you right to repaired or partial refund for you faulty product if it has manufacture fault. So email them with this law and they will repair your tv for free. I have same problem like urs and they have done it.

Thanks for the advice on the cables and where to buy them. My grandad has this tv and we are going to connect an hdmi to vga to his computer so he can get BT sport. Would you recommend any other types of cables, or would this be fine do you think?

This Tv doesn't exist on the Samsung website but the 55 and 65 does so I would think it has the same spec, which doesn't seem as good as the UE55JU6800 which has 'nano crystal display' on sale at £799.00
Thanks for the info. Correct hdmi cables - aren't they all the same except for gold plating etc?[/quote
You need ..Full ULTRA HD 4k support.. High Speed HDMI Cable with Ethernet ..with ARC (Audio Return Channel)
We got our first one from Curry's at 89.99 , then realized we needed two
One from the TV to the surround sound
One from the TV to the Virgin box
So looked on Amazon and bought this .. perfect and in a sale from 69.99 to 22.95 , just as good as the 89.99 one

22 Nov 15#56
This is a native 50hz panel - 800 PQI is a samsung rating and not solely to do with refresh rates. It stands for Picture Quality Index and goes on a scale of 100 to 2400 so this is near the lower end of that rating - as you would expect.
Generally the bigger the tv the more flaws you are going to see - so a poor native 50hz panel and average processing mean this is a recipe for disaster. Of course you may not be too bothered and simply want a large screen tv - only you can make that call ... a few made-up numbers from Samsung won't help much.

Please Google the Sale Of Goods Act. They have no right to refuse to sort out a problem that has developed after only 2 weeks. You should be lawfully entitled to a working replacement if the fault develops within (I believe) a six month period.
If you paid by Credit Card you have even more rights. I suggest you use them.

I seen 1 on very 65" 3D 4K tv think it's a Panasonic it's been reduced to £1500 but there also doing 10% offer so it's only £1350 I'm tempted but it's only 400htz refresh rate where most tv's now are 800 or above

McHotpoon to redegan82
21 Nov 15#23
You need a high native refresh rate for good 3d 100/120hz or 200/240 (its needed for active) and that means more expensive gubbins. Many 4k tvs only have 50/60hz panels at entry level prices so 3d is not even an option.

4K is only of minor interest if the overall
quality of the panel and software is not
up to scratch. HDR is a recent addition
to higher end TV's and makes for an
exceptional viewing experience. I am
not ready for new TV's yet but HDR
would be a MUST HAVE if I was.
