there was a deal about 5 - 6 years ago for a 32 inch hd then hd now classed as hd ready with free view for 199 i got one for meyself and my parents still going strong at the time i didnt know what a good brand lg was but this is a hot deal as i was looking at the 150 pounds argos deal worth the extra 50 for 5 year guarantee and better res and samsung

apart from the fact that Sony's Android implementation is dire. I tried an X85 2015 Sony TV and took it back a fotnight later. horrible.

totally agree on buying the UE32j5500 instead of this though. Fully integrated smart apps with screen mirroring, WiFi and Ethernet. worth the extra £50. Buy form RS and get 6yr warranty as well.

No external device has ITV/CH4 catch-up plus amazon instant video save for a couple of samsung blu-ray players which have their own issues.
So you end up with perhaps a Fire TV stick and a Now TV and the 3 remotes that come with it. Then if you want a games console or blu-ray player hooked up (or soundbar with HDMI ARC) then you need to start messing with HDMI switches. Along with teaching the other users in the house how to use it all! So an integrated smart solution is worth it if you ask me!

I hope Sony will bring their Android TV + Youview system to the bedroom size TVs, seems like the best system out atm (you can install Kodi right on the TV, too!).

Cold from me I paid this for an LG LED 32" over 6 years ago with Freeview HD and 200hz and with 5 year warranty and that was when 32" was relevant and was a decent size for your front room, now 32" is just a bedroom TV.
32" now should be no more than about £125 - £150

Just saying it is a good deal but some might like an all in one solution especially when this only has 2 hdmi ports so likely more expense on an hdmi switch too!

This and all HDMI switchers (from what i understand) require a specific signal from the source device to initiate the switch to that source, so if the source device does not send that signal, it won't auto switch when turned on (Apple TV doesn't for example). However, as long as two out of three of the connected devices do send the signal, then you can just turn off the two that do and the neet switch will go back to the source that doesn't auto switch. Failing that there's a physical button on the switcher to change sources.

95% of the time I'm only switching between the fire tv stick and xbox 360 with the switcher and the xbox 360 autoswitches no problem. The fire tv stick does a stupid thing when not in use and plays the screensaver for a bit and then switches "off" but still sends a signal to the TV with just a black screen, so it's actually impossible to turn off without pulling the power. So dumb, and means it doesn't autoswitch properly, but for me I just turn off the xbox and it goes back to the fire tv stick.

Anyway, long story short, depending on how many devices you're connecting and what they are you may or may not be better off with a switcher with an IR remote

Bought this a few months ago, great set if you don't need smart features (because you have a more versatile fire tv stick etc). Deep blacks, been great with the xbox too. Make sure you set the picture settings to movie mode so that 'dynamic contrast' gets switched completely off - otherwise it will change brightness based on what's on screen, which is distracting. You can then fine tune the individual settings in movie mode to taste. I also turn off all of the other picture 'features' like noise reduction etc etc. Only negative is number of HDMI ports, but I got a neet cables switcher which automatically switches when you turn things off/on, which is actually better as the remote can stay in the drawer.

Only selling mine as 32" is too small for me, and recently got the same TV in the 40" version!

got one for the kids a month ago has a HP microserver plugged in for films etc. great TV very pleased wanted higher refresh rate wasn't bothered about smart functions light weight so will hang on plasterboard easy compared to old TV which had no chance. was suprised with the screen seems very nice and clear. sound shocked me the most people seem to moan about sound on a TV this size but it is very loud even too loud. only gripe is the plastic solver bezle at the bottom right corner does not fit snug sticks out a bit if it was my main TV it would have gone back excellent buy

Good price been looking at this one this week as same price on Amazon (John Lewis have the added value of the 5 year guarantee though). I want to buy something similar for Christmas. Anyone remember if on Black Friday the price of TV's like this e.g. Samsung\Sony are better?
I don't want anything bigger and have a PS3 connected to the TV so don't need a smart one.
