One thing I will say about the freezer, however, is that the shelves are a bit awkward. As large as they are, things seem to pile on top of each other, making it tricky to take things out, if it happens to be at the bottom of the shelf. The shelves are not wide, and so things tend to stack on to each other. Be interesting to hear others opinions.

You are absolutely correct. I have been eating humble pie (chilled, naturally), and have so far, not needed anything from Curry's. Delivery was very good, and hopefully, I won't need any support from Curry's. Samsung had an extra 3 yrs extension to their normal 2 yr warranty, so I'm covered for five yrs in total. Fridge is great, very quiet, water has been used loads, its massive (six-person family), and so far its been great.

I'm glad I bought it, for £900 and over 600ltrs of space, it was a bargain for me.

I'd personally NEVER spend any significant amount at Curry's or PC World - if anything goes wrong, hell would have to freeze over before you got any kind of real and useful support or refund.

1) Don't touch Currys, appalling customer service (if you can even get hold of them).

2) Cheaper anywhere else I looked.(The £599 Headline)

3) Cheapest at Boots (£539). The reference number is slightly different (UTMG v RTMG) but the dimensions and specs are the same. Boots give a comprehensive spec, Currys don't.

This could be an issue for a large family. However, we are only a 2 and have found that there is more than enough room for our shopping. We do feel that it is worth the trade off though as we use the ice cube maker daily.

Yes, we did not find it a problem, average family, couple and two kids so I guess we did the average shop with the usual mix between fresh and frozen, I don't remember my wife complaing about lack of space.

I very often ignore reviews anyway, obviously lots of these people have gone out and bought a freezer without taking their needs into account (unlike you-who took time to ask the question) and working out whether the want a fridge freezer or a dedicated freezer. You wouldn't blame the manufacturer if they need a people carrier but bought a Mini would they? :wink:

Samsung fridge freezers are notorious for breaking down. We had one & Samsung didn't want to know. It cost £450 to repair. This is why many of the Samsung fridge freezers have a 10 year guarantee on parts...

We have this fridge freezer and love it. It makes its on ice cubes. Lots of room in fridge and freezer.
Ours is water tank that needs plumbing , we like that as the water is always fresh.

You need one of those plumbing taps that clamps over an existing cold water pipe and then self-cuts a hole into the pipe to provide a new feed.
This then goes to a thin, flexible, plastic pipe (mine came with a coil of the pipe, but I can't say if that's the case for all) that then goes into and out of a carbon water filter (needs attaching to a wall/ cupboard and changing approx every 6 months, but are cheap on eBay) and then into the back of the appliance.
It's a pretty easy operation that shouldn't be beyond any but the most kack-handed!
