that was my original assumption but looks like Rockport is now owned by New Balance, so "should" still be quality footwear.

I'll tell you what I think is going on here: Adidas have cleared their old stock en mass at a massive discount to Mike Ashley. Not seconds...not New Balance Rockport ...but all the shoes left lying around by Adidas that they have now had to get rid of very quickly.

Look at the soles, they have 'adiprene by adidas' written on them.

Absolute bargains, wish I'd bought more now.
