*** BEWARE OF THESE POINTS SCAM ***
I earned huge points end of sept and kept them for spending during oct payday. The points were about to expire on 31st oct. I started ordering items from 28th oct. OMG, none of my orders were going through saying payment error at the end. I was paying partly by points and partly by card. The same card for the original purchase did not work. Contacted their CS and said its the problem with the card issuer. Called my banks and they said no problem with the cards and they have not declined any transactions. Tried 5-6 cards from different banks all with the same result. Then finally their CS said they will look into it and get back. They havnt responded till now and all my points expired. I am determined to go to trading standards and court. I know some people will say that it worked for them but did not work for many of us. It makes me feel their systems are tuned to reject transactions when their profit margins are low. These might be chosen in random and I am one of them.

Personally I disagree. Rakutens searching and sorting facility is so poor it is often difficult to find the good deals and therefore it can be a huge benefit when others share their finds.

I wanted to actually posted that voucher, but, I have no idea why it doesn't work for me. It works in checkout page as %15 up to the value of £30 discount and when it goes through payment an error would appear which says voucher is not valid. Do you have the same issue as well or not ? Did this for me too on a specific 10% off code that they sent direct to my registered email address earlier that same day. It acknowledged and accepted the discount and showed the deduction in the basket but after I put the credit card details in it rejected the order saying the code was invalid. It's not the first time I've had problems with Rakuten either. Not a patch on what their predecessor Play.com used to be (years ago) Have now had enough of them and unsubscribed from their marketing list. PITA.

The SUPER1 code is sadly not for console games. It does deduct the 15% and keeps the original 25x points total but after pressing pay it shows an error.

Their CS is based in the UK and understandably terrible. But it looks like you tripped their internal fraud filter.
It doesn"t make what happened right, but by using so many cards after too it just looked worse on their side. Also, CS never has access to fraud information so they were just going off the error you gave them.
Still, get your day in court an dI hope you win because it looks like it was their delay that cost you your points here.

OK so make your own minds up but here's my experience so far.... Ordered two Samsung 32" tv's per a hukd deal and the order went through. I was hoping to use the points from those to buy a third tv (for the 3 kids bedrooms) but realised the points wouldn't hit in time to do that so tried to order the third tv tonight as I planned to use the points on something else (xmas plan's coming together I thought). Then it went pear shaped. My second order failed to go through, I got an automated phone call and a text from my bank saying a suspected fraudulent transaction had been logged on my account, I confirmed the transaction was genuine and got confirmation it had been unblocked, but still no joy, so I phoned. Apparently Rakuten are a blocked retailer and they didn't understand how my first transaction had processed. I now doubt my next transaction will go through so the points are effectively useless and I'll be cancelling my orders. As I said, make your own minds up and read other comments in the thread, I did and still went for it but am happy I've learned my lesson before I lost out. Sorry if I've spoilt the party but I'm big enough to take the flak and would rather that than let it go. Cheers all.

Just lost over £80 worth of points from the last 25x promotion. Ok, I should have checked the T+Cs, but this would have involved clicking the link unprompted. There was certainly no mention of point expiry when placing the order, no prompt to check T+Cs for the points, and no reminder that the expiry date was looming. It is very clear that Rakuten have a policy of deliberately facilitating the forfeiture of their customers' points. I suppose that I don't have a case, so will put it down to experience and resolve not to order from them again.

Still have an opened incident with them for £175 of points. They don't give a shishh about it.
however I've just tried again to get Terminator Genisys 3D and code won't work now and I've also tried on a secondary account
not holding out much hope for the 25x points on Hobbit though seeing as it's not released til 23rd November lol
:disappointed:
Lego Death Star + Forza 6 + Halo 5 + Black ops 3 < £300
I get "Please enter a valid voucher code and try again."
ie. are points used immediately, or if a pre-order is released after the points expire, is the order cancelled?
In regards to preorders, I believe the points are taken instantly as I preordered Hobbit Extended last week and they were taken straight away, hope this helps
If you made your purchase between the 3rd and the 6th November then these will be credited to your account 8 days after your orders have been dispatched out. These will also be available to spend until the 26th November.
