After searching high and low for a good deal I bought one of these jackets last year at over a £100 and still consider it a steal. Lightweight, showerproof and ridiculously warm for the weight of it. Great reviews all over t'internet. At £65 it is a real bargain. Free home delivery if you spend over £70, (free to store) they offer free returns so worth adding something else to the basket ?

Just went and got this price matched at go outdoors. £58.50 in total. Lovely jacket, thanks OP!

May be worth a try emailing Go Outdoors to beat/price match any Ultimate Outdoors deals. I did that on Saturday and got an email agreeing it within a couple of hours giving seven days to take it up. Phoned to order it yesterday afternoon, just checked tracking and it says due for delivery today.

Been wearing it watching the telly and it is really warm, need to get out and about, wish the material looked stronger I'd use it on my mtb on a cold day

Fantastic deal. Probably the most versatile bit of kit I own.
No, it's not waterproof - it's not meant to be. It's meant to be closer to a fleece (or softshell) replacement, but one that you can use up until it starts raining heavily. It stops wind, shrugs off light rain, breathes really well when working hard and you can still batten down the hatches in it - there's not much skin exposed if you zip it right up. I've used it from windy days in summer to light snow in winter and everything in between and it's a really useful bit of kit to have.

It's actually worth finding something for a fiver to take the order value over £70 - effectively getting it for £1.01 (Kendal Mint Cakes anyone?)

I find the price match request in the shop often works better as it's harder to say no to your face, especially if you look prepared to hand the item back and walk out

some good stuff on the site. Would love the Black Diamond Front Point jacket but I can't justify 270 squid on a coat.
I had some Montane Featherlite overtrousers that were made out of Pertex. Marketed as "waterproof" at first, which then got changed later to "Showerproof". It was the worst material I've ever used. The only thing that made it water proof was a wax layer that came off every time it got wet. Got totally soaked in it. Did nothing to stop water getting in. I don't know if it's exactly the same material here, but something to watch out for. Maybe check reviews first. I wasted £60 on those overtrousers, and they ended up in the bin.

Pertex sheild and Sheild ++ is waterproof, 'old school' pertex never was, just wind resistant. I've had this jacket for 2 years now and it will just about keep out a light 5 min shower. The whole idea of the vaporise system is to keep you comfortable rather than dry. It does me for walking the dog aswell as winter running in the hills. Good deal.

should be able to price match this against go outdoors for a further 10% off bringing down to £55
The word "rab" translates as "slave" in Russian. So don't buy this jacket if your employer speaks Russian.

No it won't keep you dry in a prolonged downpour, however, it does very well in a heavy shower and it dries very quickly, ready for the next one ! ideal for the great UK weather lol

Edit - although on closer inspection not really a waterproof. Good price though

This isn't a waterproof. It'll repel a light shower but it won't put up with heavy rain. It's more a weather 'resistant' light insulation piece.

Really good sale there at UO, especially with the quidco. Might have been better off posting the whole thing rather than just this jacket. The Arcteryx stuff is arguably a bigger bargain as it's rarely heavily discounted. Heat though.

I wondered about doing that BigTom but I wasn't sure if that was a 'deal' I'm a newbie lol I posted this as I own one and would thoroughly recommend it. Agreed tho, great sale at UO.
