not really you need an outer waterproof with a warm jumper or fleece underneath

Aha, thanks for clearing up, I guess you do get what you pay for, but this is still a fantastic deal. I purchased the down jacket I linked to for an upcoming trip to the Himalayas but I actually have a primaloft jacket by Mountain Equipment for this country due to the amount of rain we have.

Not suitable for lowland hiking in rainy weather
Guess they sell more of these in their home market then, and not this wet isle

Yeah I realised it was standard price, but compared to rivals it's a bargain

about the feathers:
Our feathers come from Chinese ducks reared for their meat; we remove their feathers after slaughter. We hold the death certificates for these ducks
aww poor ducks

You have to wonder if this is actually any worse than the Rab that was posted on here for £80 a couple of days back, itself an excellent deal. I don't have too much Decathlon stuff but have been impressed with what I do have.
I am also awaiting arrival of this for some very cold weather hiking in the himalayas I have coming up. It seems like a crazily good price for a down jacket of this heft. http://www.decathlon.co.uk/forclaz-900-mens-down-jacket-green-id_8344421.html

they are good but 75% down, 25% feather. the rab stuff is 90 or 95% down.
I have a neutrino jacket, lightest warmest jacket I have ever used, I recommend you try both
