I believe these do not have a decrompressor as most dehumidifiers, only a fan to remove the moisture

I've got one of these, it's a good little device (Does the job). It does suck power though, so avoid running it all the time.
Oh it can also freeze, so if it appears to stop working - double check for ice build up

I have one of these in a very small bedroom with 2 outside walls and it does a brilliant job in preventing damp. Not powerful enough for a larger room, but does work very well in a small one.

The power pack always seems to fail after about 18 months on the ones I have had.
