So its OK for you get what you want, but anyone else who might need to carry lots of data (120gig of films and 20gig of quality music for example) shouldn't be allowed to because you want to move away from decent size storage?
It's a good phone. Negatives are it has no memory card slot and you can't change the battery - just like an iPhone

Hi
Just like my Nexus 4.

Hopefully the entire Android ecosystem moves away from micro SD support. I can understand owning one in years gone by, but now I find it pointless.
When I went from a Note 4 32GB + 128GB micro SD to a Nexus 6P 32GB with no SD, I've noticed no difference at all. Just that the experience is a hell of a lot smoother and that there's actually no need at all to carry around a silly amount of media.

It's a Galaxy S6... probably the most reviewed phone after the Nexus series. I'm sure you can find one you like !
Just like most smart phones out there really. It's actually a very good phone especially for that price.

Is it really three times better than the vod ultra 6?
I quite want a flagship with a great camera and what puts me off the u6 is the camera.
Although I'm reasonable happy with the camera on my nexus 4.
Would be quite nice to have a phone that is 99, so even if it only lasts a year doesn't feel like bad value and I dont need to worry too much about it.

for me, huge amounts of storage on the device is a must. I carry shed loads of music on all my devices as well as numerous other files....usage habits are all subjective and I don't trust cloud storage and never will....it a conspiracy I tell thee  I too have the note 4 32gb with a 128gb card.....I have only only 11 gb left.....I just love all this on board storage

17 Nov 154#19
Well no that's obviously not my point. Just out of interest, what kind of journeys are you doing to require THAT much content on your device at one time? I can understand a few FLAC files, maybe 10 movies? But THAT much is absurd...

17 Nov 154#20
He probably just wants to have it there so he can the choice rather than having to transfer and manage files from a computer or HDD. It's probably just for convenience.

Well an HD movie can easily be between 2-5GB in size, and when you do what I do and load entire seasons of shows in HD, space becomes quite the premium. I can live with a non-removable battery, but SD card is a deal-break for me.

I need way more than 32gb as I have some huge spotify playlists that are 320 kbps.
32gb goes nowhere these days. Don't really watch movies on my phone, it's a proper eye strain even on my note 3 !!!

First off, how can you call what is currently among the top 3 in terms of raw performance and screen quality a "crap" phone?
Second, this deal was posted 2 days ago and the other thread currently haa about 760 degrees in heat, how did this make it through lol

Just ordered @ £340 and Amazon customer services have given me a returns label to return the one I brought almost a month ago @ £390. So effectively a £50 refund.
Firefly1 to hielliot
17 Nov 15#30
Did you ask for a £50 refund first rather than a return? Surprised if they said no, considering they now will have second hand stock - and you will still be £50 better off - and they paid for return delivery.

Voted hot because this is a good deal for the phone. However, personally, will never buy samsung again. I have had Samsungs for the last 10+ years (from when they made Windows phones). But when they decided to drop microSD support I decided to look elsewhere and never looked back. I will probably never buy Samsung again.
Samsung's are boring dated repetitive design, over-priced, bloatware infested. Other phone models who stick with the pure Android experience are so much better to use.
Anyone who says that microSD slot is unnecessary is clearer not an audiophile or interested in using the phone as an extensive media library. The cost of giving people the option to have one is very very little so one wonders what the ulterior motive is to make phones without one, thereby polarizing buyers.

Decisions to make really fancy a Sammy again but an invite for a OP2 has just dropped in my inbox. May forgo that for the S6 but go via Argos for the extra voucher and 10% TCB
potnoodle to mjpower4
18 Nov 15#40
I have the OP2 now and love it..yes it has its niggles like any other phone but they have been updating it alot to fix the bugs reasonably quick..plus the new Marshmellow OS is coming soon on it too.
also love the 64GB of memory too or shall I say about 54GB minus the OS install
Milev
17 Nov 15#38
Did they remove the sd slot because it slows the whole system or I am wrong? The phone probably have high speed flash memory and sd card for example class 1 ( i still have one around) will cripple the performance. Of course you will insert something decent but still will have slow performance compared with the onboard memory speed. That's just my thoughts, tell me if i am wrong.
potnoodle to Milev
18 Nov 151#39
more like they want you to buy the higher memory ones so more profit for them.
32GB is probably minimum u should go for nowadays since probably about 10gb of that is the OS and installed bloatware

had one of these for two months, loved the screen but hated everything else, I fill mine with 50 or so movies for the kids for on planes and hotel rooms (HDMI from the phone to TV). but this just didn't cut it, the battery was dreadful too, I'm addicted to 8 ball pool and couldn't get through the day with my typical use.
I got rid and got an LG G4, best phone over ever had by a long shot, 128gb SD card in it with its already 32gb and I'm set.
G4 is cheaper, better spec and around the same size etc... why would you buy an S6????
you_gotta_be_kidding
18 Nov 152#43
that makes no sense??? the G4 is in direct competition with the S6 not the note
TidyWorks
18 Nov 15#47
I almost went with the LG G4 over the S6 purely based on specs, but when I compared them in store the differences in build quality was what changed my mind. The LG G4 feels cheapish & like a £300 phone, while the S6/S6 Edge feels like a £500 premium phone. It's the same argument people have with the iPhone's premium price.

LG 5.5inch compare to S6 5inch, why not compare it to Nexus 6?
mjb1975
18 Nov 15#49
Have got the S6, moving from a OnePlus One - actually wanted a smaller screen, as I think 5.5" is just a wee bit too big. 5" (or 5.1") is more of a sweet spot screensize wise for me.
The G4 being 5.5" screen would be a no-no on that basis.

18 Nov 15#57
'duction', are you comparing a Samsung S6 32Gb at £340 with an iphone 6 16Gb costing £460 - that iphone has only half the storage of the Samsung.
I have owned both an iphone 4 and a Samsung S2. I found the Samsung better for me, though I think it's a matter of taste. The S2 is still fine and I use it a lot every day, had it for years.
Really, I think the Samsung vs iphone argument comes down to personal preferences. I prefer my mac computer to a PC. Others would totally disagree with me.

You mentioned the 128GB SD so I used an example. I actually have a 64GB on a S3 running Cyanogen. I work away sometimes for up to 2 weeks. A lot of the films I download (on the PC) are over 10GB with surround sound etc.
When I go away I just place a selection in a folder and drag it across. I realise I could reduce some of the size but its about convenience not faffing. I could use 128GB but I don't think the OS can deal with it.

My S4 is still receiving updates (released April 2013), sometimes slowly but not the end of the world.
Touchwiz isn't laggy, I actually quite like it, some of it is better than stock Android and I have a Nexus 7 to compare against.
Can't argue there is some bloatware, but most apps can be disabled even if not uninstalled and overall not using a huge amount of space.

Why is this deal still here when there's the exact same deal and price 4 days ago with MORE heat? hukd admins are slacking

19 Nov 15#76
That was exactly what I said to them... in the past they have just shelled out the difference as a refund but apparently now policy says they ant do this. However they openly encouraged me to order another one at the lower price and return it under the old order. New one arrived today and within 30mins was back on its way to them as a return under the old order number.

Great phone by the way... ive had mine a month and happy with it. Was a bit worried about the battery but it lasts up to 2 days between charges with light to medium use. I always have Battery Saver mode on, and only turn on location, wifi, mobile data and bluetooth when I actually need/want to use them. The same approach on my old S3 LTE (with a new battery) would only last a day and a bit, so the S6 is fine for my use. I dont understand how some people say they only get 1/2 a day out of it... do these people not work and spend 8 hours a day on their phones playing HD video/games etc?
