to be fair, Game do quite good testing on part exchanges, they refused my PS3 controller because it was worn .... but took the console, sold the controller to CEX instead!

I used to work for game and the only testing that was ever done was to connect the device, turn it on, run a game for a minute, test the controller and done.

They're much quieter than a 360. What makes the 360 loud is the DVD drive. It has a 12X speed. If you have a HDD, install your games and the noise is pretty much eliminated. The actual fan noises are not too loud at all. If you don't have a HDD and still play on your 360, get one. They're worth it for eliminating the noise alone. The same applies here, the PS4 will install games fully to the HDD (on the fly). So there is minimum disc spin.

The fact they were quite happy to sell a sloppy seconds PS4 for £299.99 just a few short weeks back when just about every online retailer was asking that for a brand new one is laughable. Actually I'm not sure whether to laugh or cry.

Great price along with the guarantee. My ps4 is almost a year old now and is completely silent. Maybe I've just been lucky Because my 360 was also silent as well. Don't forget all ps4 consoles are exactly the same performance wise. The new chassis models are no different in practice to the older models. Only the hdd is bigger. If you see a bargain on an old model then grab it. Don't get conned into buying the new model simply Because it's supposed to be better. They are all the same.

C - Appears to be heavily used, potentially a trade in or heavy used within 28 day period or refurbished faulty.
Bit more complicated since this is a trade in.

Just a thought about Black Friday. Considering Amazon have a policy of price adjusting a product if it drops in price after you have bought it, couldn't you just buy a ps4 before hand and if it drops in value for black friday e-mail them to match the price? If they won't you could cancel?
Just something I was thinking about trying as I can't afford to sit and watch the site all day as will be at work.

Nah. Don't even go there. You can get one a lot cheaper that will outperform a PS4 and you know it. Saying that, if you own a PC, you should know that you can just keep 'building' on it for years to come that will eventually outlast any console in the world.
Hot price though, I paid £259 for mine with Fifa 16 during the 20% off on eBay...

So. Bought one of these and it got delivered yesterday. Came in a GAME branded box with all accessories. Looked pretty neat. I even got a white model when I was expecting black (which was a bonus)
Unfortunately it lasted about 5 minutes of playing Fallout 4 before it died with red light of death. Fair play to the guy who managed to get GAME to accept this turkey with faulty fans as a fully working PS4, and shame on GAME for their awful QA. Buyer beware.
If you want Fallout 4 it's a pretty decent deal, plus it's a graded product direct from Sony (not someone's dodgy trade-in) with their manufacturer warranty rather than from GAME themselves.
