Picked up today a brand new PS3 console from HMV in Leeds for £79.99 reduced from £179.99. This was the last one but other stores around the country might be clearing space for the PS4 and Xbox One.
Get to play all the classic games like Uncharted, God of War and The Last Of Us that has only just come out on PS4 for a fraction of the price. lol

People are missing the point about the HDD size. This a great DNLA streamer which also works with SkyGo. So if for that it's a good price. However for gaming 12GB is nowhere near enough and the added cost makes it bad buy.

You are not 100% correct! A lot of disc based games do not install onto the hard drive and use very little memory only for game saves. If you download games then obviously that's a different matter.

Yup, but maybe getting a 2nd gen one would be better as it slot-feeds discs, look better and is arguably the better built console.

Probably better off buying a dedicated 3D blu-ray player for £40 - £50 if your not interested in the gaming side of things. These things are fairly noisy & fiddly to use just for watching movies.

Got one for £100 from ASDA last month and slapped in a 1tb Samsung HDD. Great console.

Obviously, you'll need to buy a mounting bracket £6 and a hdd £30-£40 right away too. Unlike the original PS3s, these don't come with mounting brackets or hdds, the 12gb is flash ram.

You don't even need a mounting bracket to put a HDD in, if your ps3 stays stationary it shouldn't be a problem.
I did it while my mounting bracket was being delivered, i didn't want to wait the 5 days as i already had a laptop HDD laying about.

Got one of these of my bro after he picked up a ps3, installed 1 game (Arkham asylum) then couldn't fit anything else on the hard drive, so couldn't play anything else. Pretty ridiculous size hard drive and that's not the worst of it. You can't use USB Hard drives or memory sticks like you can with xbox, you need to purchase a 2.5 internal hard drive and ps3 mounting plate,then unscrew the side and install it. Bit of a mess about considering its an absolute must in order to play more than one game.

Yes, they were at one time but HMV have had it in the storeroom for a while now. Amazon selling new at £162 now.

Yep, needed to renew my PS3 the other day and had to pay £170ish. Cheapest I could find for latest edition slim console brand new.
