why it cheap, has a cheap LCD screen.loads of blocking streaming SD and HD. Had one glad I returned it spent a little more on Sony. huge difference in screen quality

Ambilight was philips toy many many years ago we had 47 inch LCD with it on and its worth it as it does actually make a huge difference when watching. We upgraded to plasma after owning it for a year and even though plasma didn't even compare to the philips we did miss the lighting. I don't care for it myself but my other half got an email from philips some time back with this new Razer TV on it and added it straight to the top of his Christmas list along with his Hue kit
Though good idea bringing it to PC as a standalone product. Though Philips did this many years ago but not sure what happened to it, I remember we had a kit and I am sure along with lighting it did air aswell. Cant remember what it was called though

Thanks for the reply. Never knew it had already existed before but remembered seeing a Kickstarter campaign then year later noticed the Philips TV's with Amblight was adding two and two together! Nice to hear from someone who actually has one (and wants the next gen version!)

OP needs to add this to the op, some people will see the deal hot and just click through to buy, when reality is this is a cold deal, the 6 year warranty makes the RS deal hot not this one :disappointed:
It is a lot of TV for £649, but the screens on the Sony and Samsung are surely better? The Sony (also an android TV set) was £699 on Amazon lightening deals recently which I missed out on, but for £50 more you were getting a much better set. Expecting similar deals in the next week or so I hope, with Black Friday looming.
me too, fingers crossed as in the market for best I can get, not sure if I actually want a 55" or happy around the 50" mark as a have a projector for movies/gaming

Hot from me - a lot of TV for the money.
The Android UI on the Sony mentioned earlier is said to be somewhat unreliable / problematic.
I'm holding out for something a little more upmarket but I can't see a better 4K 55" set for £649.

Hi, i wonder if anyone can help -.I'm looking to upgrade our TV- but very confused by all the latest models? We definitely want a 50" at least. Price wise - the best we can get for around £600/£800. If anyone can help so I know what to look out for - I would be really grateful! Thanks

Panel response time causes ghosting, its the time for the pixel to change colour and 1-4ms on gaming monitors and 4-16ms on TV's. A 50/60hz panel towards the 16ms some Sammy 60hz pannel do hit 8 or under.
Input lag is the time it take from the TV receiving the signal to displaying it on screen. Often 20-100ms. 30-40ms input lag is acceptable for most TV's which is the time it takes to display 3-4 frames. If your playing games competitively and have a TV with 80+ms input lag then your 4 frames behind the action of all the other players. If your playing Minecraft it makes no odds really :-)

Over 50 ms is a detriment to competitive gamers, over 75 ms will bother regular gamers who are playing fast games, and over 100 ms will be noticeable by just about anyone.
Over 125 ms makes it pretty much impossible to play fast-paced games.
