HKS garage on London Road, Coalville have just changed suppliers and have petrol and diesel for 99.9p/l today and tomorrow. I asked inside and they said its a 2 day special offer due to the change over. They also had a tub of hero's on the counter so I took one for me and the wife!

Yes But Petrol is worth the price unlike the rubbish turned out with the name of Cadbury printed on the outside made by faceless manufacturers who must be getting screwed to the bone by yet another foreign company that is decimating everything that was once BRITISH.

If they are draining the tanks to swap supplier be aware that you might get all of the sediment and crud that has collected at the bottom over the years.

Not the case. New fuel, supplied directly by Essar Tankers, direct from the Essar Uk refinery. The fuel will be better than it's ever been at this Station.

Most fuel tanks, including in cars, feed from the bottom (with the assistance of gravity), "crud build up" is an Urban Legend.

My dad used to own the Mobil garage in the centre of Coalville (and the one on the A50 Markfield). I worked both of them as a lad in the 70's and 80's. Coalville was a scary shift at night. Some weird folk there. It was also a dump and depressed. I am sure its much better now

I remember when you could get a GALLON for that.
In fact I worked on petrol forecourt selling petrol between 1964 and 1966 and you could get about FOUR GALLONS or more for a Pound then.
Remember the REAL Cadbury crème eggs used to be SIXPENCE in REAL money and are now the equivalent of TRHITEEN SHILLINGS in this MICKEY MOUSE money of today.

Based on a Creme Egg costing 6 'old' pence,
40 Creme Eggs for a pound OR 4 gallons of petrol for a pound- so 1 gallon of petrol 'costs' 10 Creme Eggs.
1 gallon = 4.5 litres, so 2.2 creme eggs per litre.
1 litre currently = £1.
Creme Eggs are about 45p each, so 2.2 Creme Eggs equals exactly 99p!
You can therefore conclude that petrol has increased by an extra penny, in comparison to Creme Eggs, over 4+ decades. Pretty good going if you ask me.
Creme Egg currency ftw!
Yes, I am bored.
