Great price for a good piece of kit, I know the new version is out now but you can't go wrong with the original as it will suit most.
Official refurbishment from Google, comes in original packaging and has a 6 month warranty.

Localcast works well casting movies... Be aware that chrome cast only plays certain file format. Cast screen gets around it, though quality not 100%.....
And who says showbox not working? Works for me... Clear your cache in the apps settings and try the different servers.. Server 8 was working great for me with knock-knock last night...

montana78 - try using the Rocket Player app (there is a free version on Google Play). It will play music on your phone or SD card and will Chromecast. Seems like a decent music player.

And what app can I use to watch movies from my sd car to the tv? I use mx player to watch on my phone but it doesn't support remote play :disappointed:

I received the My Memory email promo listing the Chromecast price as £16.50. In less than 18 hours the price increased on their site to £18.95 ! I have bought products from them before but this procedure has now deterred me from future purchases.

I got chromecast Audio the other day. I tried to play my collection off my phone and it said I can't play side loaded music remotely. I can only use spotify or google purchased music.
Does anyone have a workaround for this?

will it not even play music you put into your Google acc? I do that with my phone to stream when out and about
I've got V2, don't notice any improvement from v1. I'm tempted by the Firestick, but I think Chromecast is my only option to stream BT sport (legit subscription) and Now TV (without the box) using my phone - correct me if I'm wrong.

Mobdro for me has a cast screen icon in the corner. make sure you have the latest version. must admit it can be temperamental.
Also used it with showbox. That's definitely finished now. sure enough someone will develop an alternative app

It would not surprise me if Amazon do another round of Fire Sticks for £25 come Black Friday in a couple of weeks time, I would advise anyone save their money unless they just want a rudimentary stick of which this then is ideal.
Obviously being android and with sideloading you can do much more such as Kodi with the Fire Stick.

Wish they'd release one with ethernet - I got annoyed with stutering on mine on HD stuff, been fine since I got the ethernet adaptor from the US....

I have an original and a new chromecast and there really isn't much between them other than dual band wifi.
As long a the 2.4ghz band isn't too congested where you are you really won't notice a difference.
v1 loads a Netflix movie in 8sec and the new one only takes 6sec...
If I didn't need 5ghz I would choose a v1 at this price.
