hot! got this a while ago from somewhere else. was great to play generals again. Unfortunately red alert and generals are the only ones i have enjoyed?

Why are you asking us what ones you've enjoyed? My head hurts.
Good deal anyway. RA2/YR are personal favourites of mine for the nostalgia and enjoyable gameplay, whereas Generals, RA3 and C&C3 are all great RTS games with differing mechanics. Probably not worth bothering with C&C4. The original C&C and Red Alert while great games I don't think have aged very well. Tiberian Sun and Red Alert 2 can amusingly be set to practically any resolution you like with a quick config edit. Seeing a quarter of the map at 1920x1200 is quite amusing  If memory serves Renegade is a very poor first person shooter, so I wouldn't bother with that either.
How crazy is it that it upsets me that I paid £12. played through the whole of c&c and loved playing all the old games. Got to say that this is worth the money just for c&c3 Tiberium wars alone.

Origins are offering Command & Conquer Red Alert™ 2 and Yuri’s Revenge™ free if that is the version(s) you enjoyed the most.
Red Alert 2 works on W2. Played it from the free DL.

I have played through the whole set through Origin and they definitely all do work on W7. Even the original c&c which was originally DOS I think.

Didn't EA take over and kill off the franchise with Command & Conquer 4 Tiberian Twilight

They took over long before that (1998), but they did kill the entire franchise with C&C4.

Do these play ok with modern screen resolutions?
I used to love playing red alert2 over my LAN!
Cant believe there isnt a more modern equivalent. The last one that lacked base building was terrible, they actually gave me a refund!

Apparently this is a fix for Windows 8.1 to get the titles working, I'm not sure if it would also work for Windows 10.
This apples to all games:
1) Reboot your PC.
2) Right click Red Alert 2 in origin client.
3) Select "Game Properties"
4) In 'Command Line Arguments' type: "-w"
5) Tick "Disable Origin In Game For This Game"
6) Hit OK and enjoy!

Thanks, but unfortunately still no joy for me :disappointed: Before the "-w" I just got a black screen, now I get a black screen with a mouse pointer and music.

I had 3 or 4 of the titles that did not work on windows 7,think this box is windows XP friendly.
I've read somewhere that the Origin versions of Generals can work on Windows 10. I own the genuine original CD versions - but no luck as they are now blocked by Windows 10 because of the safedisc/securom DRM disabling update!

I think hotukdeals and the deal editor who posted should be ashamed of themselves. You dont allow people to post deals from china because no zero cash affiliate links ( you may say its another reason ), but then post and promote how to fraudulently purchase games from u.s. stores. You may say " the publisher makes more than enough money" etc etc and all those weak excuses, but the truth is, your stealing revenue from someone.................

As much as I love HUKD I have to say I agree with you. I once posted a deal from a Google endorsed retailer in Germany for one of Googles Virtual Reality cardbox viewers and it was refused because it wasn't a UK company. I even appealed but to no avail.
But then the site has to gain its revenue from somewhere, so that's the "price" we pay for such an excellent, free site...

wtf? How is BUYING something from another locale stealing? You're GIVING money to the owner via Origin or whoever!
Your logic is rather weird, if you don't like this like this kind of thing think you're on the wrong site!

Hot deal, RA1, RA2, Generals and add-ons were awesome games. Don't forget to try the "hidden ant" missions from RA1, I believe it was on the Counterstrike add on
Probably a good time to mention this though - http://www.openra.net/ - recreation of RA1 for modern OS and cross platform multiplayer

C&C was what got me hooked on pc gaming in about 1996! Cant beat the original c&c or the first red alert! Love them even if the resolution is 640x480 vga
The issue was that westwood studios were bought up by EA games i think... Then the whole series went down hill at that point!
Red alert 2 and maybe 3 were the last ones I enjoyed as EA games! The rest are poo!
