the samsung 850 evo is ~£60 from a lot of retailers such as amazon at the moment. I believe its worth the £10 more, better realibility, performance and 10GB (before formatting).

hot... but a sandisk ultra 240gb was £55 last week so it'll be worth waiting for a similar deal

That would be great if Toshiba weren't one of the better regarded business laptop makers. I wouldn't go out of my way to buy OCZ but still...

I wouldn't trust OCZ anymore, they are owned by Tosh now but still. The brand should of died, they ruined it with their SSD's

OCZ are SSDs to avoid as they have serious reliability issues - you've been warned

It's a good price and OCZ have been owned by Toshiba for a while now so reliability should be much improved, but as others have pointed out £50 is becoming the norm for 240GB SSDs.

Lots of deals coming up for round the £50 mark at the moment. Think Black Friday is worth hanging on for if you don't need one urgently. If you do, hang on for a couple of days, sure a San disk will pop up at this price

Have to say that I have an ARC100 in my HTPC and it's been great.

The Arc is much better than the Trion when it comes to performance consistency.

Are OCZ still in business? You've got black Friday reals coming up too don't think it's going to be a worthwhile deal this so sorry op.
I can see someone dropping a 250gb ssd down to nearer £40 between now & Christmas too

Not the OCZ of old no. Toshiba bought the SSD side of the business so these are Toshiba drives in all but name.
But as said above, it's a below average SSD in a sea of better ones for the price

TLC is all about the money not performance; unfortunately so far we're charged similar prices and Samsung has made a decent stab at performance but if we dont see big price reductions I'd let them keep their TLC

I've never heard of OCZ Trion before, so had a quick search on google for reviews. I think this one might be a miss, seeing as there's been a bunch of 240GB SSDs at the £50 price point.

Conclusion from Anandtech: "the Trion is the slowest modern TLC drive we've tested and in some cases it is so by a quite hefty margin."
