Having managed to snag one of the Nutri Ninja BL450 900W when they were on offer for just over £50 I'm not sure I could live with anything less powerful or with lower capacity than the 0.65 litres cup.

If you're looking at this as a first blender I'd carefully consider it only being 700W and 0.47 litres.

My old 300W pretty much didn't put a dent in berry seeds and the linseeds (flaxseed) I was putting in were broken up but hardly ground down into something drinkable. I learned my lesson that if you buy cheap you buy twice and the move to a 900W unit is much better. But it still doesn't work miracles. It'll happily mulch through a 200g bag of linseeds leaving it very finely ground but without a milling blade does leave some chunkier bits. Same with berry seeds, most get blended but a few bits remain.

0.47 litres would be absolutely useless for my needs but your mileage may vary. 250ml milk, 100g Greek yoghurt, 160g fruits, 40g peanut butter, 25g linseed and 25g oats is pretty much at capacity for the 0.65 litres cup on mine.

Depending how seriously you want to start making smoothies my advice is to take the hit on something more expensive, if you want seeds and fibrous greens taken care of I really think you need 900W or more and don't bother with anything in the 300W range unless the most your asking of it is bananas.

No way is £99 a genuine RRP, that is to say I would feel thoroughly shafted if paid such a price.
However at £39 it's a bargain and exactly what I was after, wouldn't feel too out of sorts paying £60 if was actually searching for one.
Takes hardly any space at all on counter, all parts dishwasher safe that come into contact with food.
It's not exactly a premium finish item but has a distinctly above bargain basement feel if you get me. Think Russell hobbs kind of thing.

Tried on a load of stuff, seems to work as expected with no bits...never tried a nutribullet though, or similar so I'm not sure if I'm supposed to get some kind of miracle smoothie or just the contents of the fruit in smoothie form...

Best I can do, would buy again.

Original price is genuine at launch though generally available for £60-75 these days but at £39, super bargain....(if you want one obviously)

Just but the brevelle for a lot cheaper and does the same job. Done.

none in my local, was gonna go with amazon, but thats only 1000w

I think the Amazon one IS the same, there just seems to be confusion whether it`s 1200w or 1000w. Also, Homebase probably have it available for delivery, but will charge.

Are there any 1000w + blenders that are configures like an older style jug blender? I like the extra capacity but can't afford to go for a vitamix / blendtec

Lol, i really think people are missing the point on this deal.

I know it's a lower capacity and watts than its bigger brothers, but it's slimness will suit small kitchens and workplaces. You can buy a bigger bottle.

Looking at all the comments here, just can any of the blender experts recommend the best one to get which will make approx 1 lire of smoothie in one go (ie so two people can have 0.5 of a smoothie each), and which can also be used for cocktails and even soups. Was going to get a nutribullet but have seen they are only 600W. Any advice gratefully received.

Had a bit more of use out of this now.

1. Smoothies are fine
2. Does great hot chocolate.
3. Mixes protein shake/powder.

Maybe the above is obvious, but the good bit is cleaning up after takes less than 10 seconds, which means it's practical to get those 2/3 things done for just one portion.

Excellent deal, my young daughter HATES vegetables and fruit, but we got one yesterday and she was so excited about it and said she will have a fruit/vegetable drink with her 5 a day ingredients each day so she can have something good and suggested that she has this instead of the cardboard breakfasts she has every morning. hopefully the enthusiasm will continue.
Also compared to the full size nutri ninja and nutri bullet, this wont overtake your kitchen top space, very compact design, but powerful.

Yes great product at a great price. I use it every day and is fantastic way to increase fresh veg intake. The speed makes it quite busy though so you may want to keep earplugs nearby.

Just ordered mine :smiley:. Have been after a health blender/extractor for a while but was put off by the price and if I'm going to actually continue using it once the novelty has worn off.

This is such a good price even if it is a lower spec to some of the other models. Some of the comments from people who have bought this model have helped though!:smile:
