These are the old stock white boxes. Better than the cost of the passes on their own £15 for two months (on sale on the same shelf). the boxes are brand new with the hdmi cable and remote etc. I bought three so thats my next six months taken care of.

I've been using NOWTV for around 18 months since leaving Virgin Media and love this box. Sure, it has it's critics, but if you're looking for a very easy to use way of viewing Sky movies (all live channels and on demand), or indeed the great selection of programmes on the Sky chanels and box sets, then this is perfect. 720p doesn't pixelate on my 46in Samsung TV, I have a 1.5MB internet connection (no fibre) and rarely get buffering issues, even with Sky Sports.
Also works great with Chromecast and a smartphone or tablet!
Love it and couldn't live without it.

Even though the Movie Pass is the better one of all (except for Sports' fans) it still kinda sucks because of the limited selection and no subtitles.

Yes lack of subtitkes really bugs me about now tv.

If you have a Chromecast it's worth checking the offers in there. I did the other day by chance before buying a movies pass and there was a complementary 2 month movie pass...

I activated this yesterday for my chromecast. If anyone wants to get it they can go here and claim it:
Thanks for this I've just checked our two chrome casts & two lots of movie passes! Very happy thanks :innocent:

I'm not too sure why people rave so much about these. I got one for a tenner only to use with my plex... Max resolution is 720p and it's the first 720p device I've used where there is so much pixelation.

Guess it's because it's one of the cheaper media centre boxes out there, but honestly, an Android TV box / Pi2 are way better and with more choices.
Something that I hate about the NowTV box is that there's no USB port to connect a USB and watch the videos!

And audio description, which although kind of niche, Netflix is beginning to do in an awesome way for visually impaired viewers.

eh so how are you supposed to watch foreign films. Thought subtitles was a basic requirement

What are everyone's opinion on now tv? As i've seen some people saying that the service/buffering is rubbish and have considered buying this

Great on TV and PC. I found the picture quality on tablets is great but the sound quality on tablets is a bit poor but listenable to. I also think you can watch live sky broadcasts but you obviously cant record them.

We use 3 of these and have been used at the same time in the past with no buffering issues and only on 12mb line here, picture quality is fine and it's easy to use, peoples issues with buffering doesn't mean it's a Now TV issue, plenty of reasons as it's not just about how fast your line is (I think some people think if they are on zillion mb download they won't have problems but it's not that simple).
For a £10 note try it, use it for 2/3months depending on package (3/4 months if you set up a new account as IIRC you get a free months trial when 1st registering), one thing is we don't use it for Movies as for us the TV Series is what it's used for.

I agree also. Been using for around 12 months, no buffering issues and the picture quality is good. I cancelled by sky subscription after trying it out. running on 16mb broadband so not sure how it would run if you only had 4mb for example.

I use a roku box and a now TV box and my connection is between 4mb-5mb and have no problems, even when using both devices. These are great for the movies and entertainment, I usually get them for about half the price.

I'm happy with the selection of movies and box sets, what you get for £10 is amazing, but the fact they don't do subtitles or audio description really bugs the hell out of me, my flatmate doesn't have English as her 1st language so not having subtitles really is ridiculous.
They've had people calling for it for years yet do nothing about it and it really does make me angry. How long ago were subtitles invented? I think I've had them on tvs all my life, yet someone thought it would be a great idea to design the box without any help at all for deaf/blind people or people who don't have english as a 1st language.

The new black box does have usb, and plex can be loaded too.
If you have more than 2mb internet there should not be any buffering, if u can stream from youtube without buffering then this should be the same. Mine buffers sometimes but it's probably because my router is 25 feet away when using now tv, but buffers alot when using youtube and the app takes ages to respond, sometimes freezing. Using youtube and iplayer is frustrating because of this but now tv works fine mostly.

Trouble free here for what, nearly 2 years. Must be your ISP, speed of connection or your wifi. Never signed up for a sub, always managed to get a new box with 3 month Entertainment package deal. Bargain.
