if i bottle my farts, and offer them for sale at £1000 each, then somebody else gets hold of a batch of my farts, and is selling them for £500 each, that's £500 cheaper than the next best price.
They're still not worth £500, because nobody likes or wants my farts.
A bit of a ridiculous analogy, but do you see the point?
Even if something posted is the cheapest around, it doesn't necessarily mean it's a good deal if said item wasn't worth the asking price in the first place.
I can get a far better pair of trainers than this for £50.

But you're here to vote on the deal thankfully and would never vote cold because you didn't like the look of them!

Not the nicest pair of Air Max out there! Hence them not being able to sell them at full price.

Great price but I pity anyone stepping into dog mess with those looking at the tread!

but its all about opinion. £50 for trainers that look naff isn't good value, whether they're the cheapest naff looking trainers or not.

thats personal preference...I think they look good..I'd wear it

But that's the point....You shouldn't vote cold on a deal sharing site when you personally don't like the look of something in a deal...you're meant to judge it on the deal....and as with anything people have opinions on what they like. Clearly they must be doing OK as a style as can't see them elsewhere for anything like this price...and people in this thread have been buying them.

This is the reason theres no damn innovation. Its more profitable to just keep rehashing old stuff.

I remember buying a pair of Air Max 90s from a deal on here at £45, a year or two ago, but they were in very limited sizes and only one colour. Very tempted by this deal...

I'm with you on this one, thankfully I think most of the site votes down stuff they consider crap, regardless of price. Occasionally it goes wrong (like a site-wide hatred of anything Apple) but mostly it's a good thing.

Great find OP, thanks. Ordered. Not 100% sure on the look but can refund if I don't like them in person, great price!

Whilst I admire your analogy....we'll have to disagree. If people want to buy your farts....and people are selling your farts for £1000 (and several retailers have them for that price)...but someone offers your farts for half price...then my good Sir you have a deal...and again what the point of this site is about. NOT opinions on fashion. Surely you can appreciate this?
RuudBullit
27 Oct 152#31
I'll be honest, I used to have exactly the same opinion as you. That the cheapest price for a product is a deal. But I've slowly come to think that, because Nike for instance, tells us that something is worth £90, it doesn't mean it is. So for me, this site is about personal opinion, whether an item is worth the asking price, not worth the asking price, or, worth more than the asking price.
Like you say, we'll have to agree to disagree on this one.

Can't ever agree on trainers being called sneakers in the UK, but a good deal's a good deal. Hot from me.
Stiz2theMiz
27 Oct 151#33
I get your point....but I, as a person who likes his trainers, would look at this and think this is a deal. I (like you ironically) might not be a fan of the colour way but knowing others would be I vote on the deal in its context of a deal.....as know other sneaker geeks out there would value this as a deal. You can't possibly bring RRP's into this conversation - otherwise you should, be your own standards vote cold on 90% of what people post.

I am saddened that so many people on this site now vote based on whether they like a product rather than it being a deal or not. It's like because they have achieved so little in their lives they need to live vicariously through the internet as a Troll to get their voice heard.
