I have the no mic version of this (E10) and the sound quality is pretty good. Recommended.

Same here, but only if they were fitted exactly right in my ear.

I agree with this. Good construction too, all metal external means even after 6 months of good use they still look the piece.

Great sound however the volume button is a bit flimsy. Mine broke within a few months. I ended up buying the ones without the volume selector. On some of the newer model ones it looks as though they have changed the design to a cylinder type thing.

How noise isolating are these?

What this guy said, please?
Was about to get the E10S this week but read somewhere that noise isolation isn't the best..

I get on around 100 planes a year and am very good at killing headphones. I recently bought a pair of Zik 2 Noise Isolating phones (which obviously blow these out of the water) and these have been relegated to my backup ones (mainly for when i forget to charge the others). That being said the noise isolation is very good indeed, make sure you choose the right size plugs (you get a selection in the box) and jam them in nicely. Mine have been on circa 100 flights and I only opted to upgrade to the ziks due to them being essentially free lol.
Also these are the most durable headphones I have ever bought (seinheisser etc should take note) and still look like the day I got them.

mine's fit perfectly with the original fittings, I suppose you also got a bag of rubber fittings with different sizes and types, check if they fit.

These are good earphones, so I would consider getting new ears. Heat added.

Which is what I said, but also that fitting them correctly is important. That is why they provide a load if different sized plugs with them. Maybe consider getting some new English comprehension skills?

It was a joke. It shouldn't surprise you to know that I didn't literally mean you should actually get some new ears.
So no need to get snotty, especially when it doesn't seem to be me who has the problem with English comprehension, sir/madam.

Your previous comment clearly implied that I had rubbish hearing and couldn't tell these were decent earphones. If you go around insulting people for no reason, don't be surprised if you get a snotty response back.

I don't think he was saying that your hearing was rubbish.
His joke was that these earphones are so good for the price that it would make more sense to get ears to fit the headphones rather than the other way round.

I'm happy to leave you with lutin's comment, let you decide what the most mature response is and wish you (and your ears) a truly wonderful weekend, sir/madam.

So does this amplify the sound. I just got a sony xerpia and for me at max the volume is still too low with their stock headphones (which are supposed to be pretty good)?

I am very disappointed with these earphones. After owning a pair of e10's for a few years I thought I'd get a set with the mic attachments and volume control. I doubt if these are the real deal as all reviews say they are identical tho the plastic volume/MIC is so cheap and flimsy, the cable is very poor quality and the sound is dreadful. No treble or bass and Around half the volume of my original e10's. Even at full volume on iPhone 5 I'm struggling to make out snares on drums whereas my ears would be blown off with my originals. Now I know why these were so cheap. possibly fake

I have just bought some of these with some air miles, good to see the reviews are generally good :-)
