It's because the back is curved, thin edges but 11.1mm at the thickest point.

Play is 3630mAh, the Pure (or Style as its otherwise known) is 3000mAh.
I have the Play coming from a Nexus 5, its a very good phone, i was using it as a stepping stone to a 6P but have decided to keep the Play for now as i'm more than happy with it.
When i've run the battery to 0 (or thereabouts) the best screen on time i've had is over 6hrs 30mins.....excellent!

Absolutely love my Moto X style. Bought my on release date @ £349.00 on Amazon UK so this is a good deal. Not sure if I'd buy from a non UK source myself. :smiley:

Can't really go wrong with either, both solid phones.
Difficult to choose between the two as hardware-wise they're incredibly similar. Removable battery and the slightly smaller screen made me opt for the G4 personally though as I think 5.5" is just about my limit.

what's the difference between this and the play version?
extra 1gb ram and 0.2inch larger display? Think I would choose the play version instead for larger battery and slightly smaller screen which already is way too big.

This is an amazing price, but as tempting as it is, and believe me its tempting, I'm going to try and hold out one more week until Black Friday, but as for which phones better this, the G4 or the play, it really depends on your own personal needs, if its for the camera, get the G4, battery the play, music the style and so on and so on.

You mean the Pure? Play is much longer as its a higher capacity and less powerful and has a lower res screen.
As a side note i find the screen on the Play to be superb as well even though its 'only' 1080p.

About Moto X Style battery, don't forget that this phone support qualcomm quick charge. So for 30 min battery will charge to 50%.
The best Moto X Style deal I've seen was before BespokeOffers went out business. With cashback and BespokeOffers based on Amazon UK price, the phone worked out around 275-280. The only reason I didnt take the deal was because there was no 64GB version available outside the Motorola Maker. I just want 64gb+128gb sd card but there's still no 64GB version of Style and Force outside Motorola Maker now.
I guess I'll have to wait until next year when new phones with SD 820 come out.
