Spotted in the Vodafone Stirling shop today (07/11) the newer 3rd Gen Motorola Moto G 2015 model reduced to £100 for existing Vodafone customers or £110 (£100 plus £10 top up) for new customers.
Probably locked to Vodafone but very cheap to unlock via well known Auction site.
Looks like the price online is still £130.
Also available to buyers that use lower case letters

its not about specs! Its about how well built it is, and the ultra 6 is just a cheap lagy chinese rebadge!

It's not about specs? I think it's about both, Yes the Ultra 6 isn't exactly a premium build quality but what do you expect for a little over a £100!

Just got my moto g 3rd gen 8gb from Tesco, £149 but used my clubcard vouchers to pay for it in the boost. Really happy with it coming from a faulty HTC One X +.
Only downside is the memory, ordered a 64gb transcend hoping it works in it.

i think smart ultra 6 is a better deal than this.not that its a bad deal.its just not as capable as the smart ultra 6.its a step above the moto g.if you like a smaller phone the moto g is ok but su6 has double the ram and built in memory and faster chip in it and a more capable camera and a larger screen which is a plus to me.full hd to.the su6 isnt poor built considering the price its exceptional.dont think ive ever seen a phone as good value.but for 100 the moto g is good also.remember its built by lenovo.same league as zte who builds su6

It was on offer last weekend at £99 till Sunday 1st November, I suspect they haven't taken the sign down. And they make you may £10 top up in store even if you are a Vodafone customer.

A step backwards for sure! This has 1GB ram and 8GB in-built memory, and lower screen resolution. I'm not really seeing what more it offers over the Sony Xperia E4G, other than higher MP camera...

Top phone, had mine since it released around September of this year. The capacity is quite limiting but just grab an SD card and transfer apps across to leave yourself with 1GB for photos and videos. Battery is lasting just over 2 days for me, though I keep charge cables in the car and at work.
I came to it from the iPhone 6 and find it a great all-round phone, if all you do is social media, take a few pics read the news & email etc. If you're wanting to play games on it then look at one of the flagship phones instead.
Jimmyboy to byjimini
8 Nov 15#62
How many apps can you transfer to the memory card? I've found most won't allow you unless the latest update allows you to move them all?
229mel
8 Nov 15#61
How the hell does it have **** specs? Decent camera, good battery, good build quality, the ram and CPU is enough for 99% of the time, and it has really good dual flashlight as well. I will rather have a bit ''slower'' phone than some chinese **** which will stop working in a few months either because of crap software ''upgrades'' or by its build quality.

8 Nov 15#70
I didn't mean the Moto G 3rd Gen specifically. I was just sating in general lol . Also, any phone can just stop working. There is not a 100% guarantee that a phone will always work. There will always be a minute chance that a device will stop working and if this is the 1gb ram version, it's not that good tbh.

The camera on the Moto G 3rd Gen is very good, I cant say how good the LGG3 is, but there is nothing wrong with the moto's.
But overall Id have to say spec wise the LGG3 is a better phone.

Is the Vodafone ones branded? Tempted to get one from their website for £130 delivered but if they have vodafone written all over them, it's a bit of a downfall.

£136 at Amazon if you prefer one already unlocked:
I wouldn't get a phone with 1GB these days, but the 8GB storage shouldn't be a problem for much longer. Motorola should be updating this phone to Mashmallow soon, which will merge phone and SD storage so you can just add a microSD card to solve any storage issues.

So it is an issue NOW, and I agree with you, stay away from 1GB RAM/8GB memory phones.

About 40% at the moment. Marshmallow is coming soon and will allow most, if not all, apps to be saved to a memory card.

I have gen 2 and the system takes up nearly all of the phones memory, bloody thing can hardly managed just facebook and twitter at once. Even with all the other apps on an SD card it does not help when the main ones + system cant be moved.
Does Gen 3 improve on that in anyway?
Outside of that it used to be a rock solid phone, dropped mine about 100 times and its still going.

I imstalled Cyanogenmod ROM, is a professional highly maintained custom ROM with newest Android 5 and extra very useful features and settimg, with bloatware. Very stable and reliable.
However, you void your warranty by installing it.

This phone is worth picking up even at its standard price. It runs stock Android so it doesn't really matter that it has 1GB RAM, it feels just as fast as the LG G2 I had which has 2GB RAM, the LG amendments to Android slow the phone down, its the same for any other manufacturer which adds a skins to Android. I had the Gen 1 Moto before my LG G2 and have now reverted back to this brand by picking up the 3rd Gen Moto. Its the most stable phone I have ever owned and the speaker is load which is very useful, never any dropped calls, excellent Antenna, good camera too. Its the ideal phone.

My LG G2 phone that I got last black Friday seems to have just deveoped a fault where it can no longer find any bluetooth devices (still under warranty just) even though it can still connect to exsisting devices.
Might end up replacing it so would like to ask if this phone is as good as the LG G2?
