It's all working now. Bought this on unplanned visit to mobile dept. Surprise they had stock left & it was unlocked already when I tried my own sim even though it has a label proclaiming the phone is locked to the Tesco Mobile network. Even sales staff mentioned it was locked. That will teach me never to trust sales staff advice 100% & always get a second opinion.

Oh well, saved me the unlock fee.

Fully charged & updated. Just waiting for port to complete then it's Mum's first smartphone territory. Can't wait for all the bombarding questions after Mum saw her friends' smartphone.:neutral_face:

Available yesterday at Tesco Sandhurst (aka The Meadows) for £69.50.

I had to ask a member of staff to see if they had stock in the store room as it was not on display. Member of staff said they still had a few.

It was upgraded to 5.0.2 out of the box and the phone when activated added a firmware upgrade to patch the 'Stagefright' vulnerability.

Model - XT1072 - 1 SIM and 1 SD slot

As I said earlier in the thread- when this gets marshmallow you can set the external sd to act as internal storage so the low storage issue should be solved, however I do agree with you- no new phone should be sold nowadays with 16gb or below

The problem with any android phone now, is that Lollipop takes up heaps of internal storage. This obviously limits how many apps you can use. I have the minimum amount on mine but I'm unable to update them because of the lack of internal space. I know you can transfer some apps to SD card, but this still doesn't help. They either need to make all phones and tablets at least 32gb, make all apps able to move to SD, get rid of the crappy bloatware that no one uses or make the operating system smaller! I've resorted to rooting my phone, and installing a completely different ROM. Its freed up heaps of space and got rid of the bloatware!

I managed to get one of these from the Tesco Metro, Nottingham Victoria Centre and they had one remaining on the shelf.

The barcode is 5 054402 848178 and it is the Moto G 4G 2nd generation and not the dual SIM version.

last one went in Cleethorpes about 1hr ago apparently, all sold out in Grimsby too

Full price in Lincoln, staff couldn't be bothered to check price either, and tried to convince me that the 2nd and 3rd gen moto g were the same handset, lol.

Saw this in Cardiff Extra Culverhouse Cross and Swansea Extra Fforestfach last week. Excellent deal, black and white versions available. Also had 1st gen
for £47.50.

Confirmed with CS that it should get Marshmallow update, but I doubt it would.

Called in at the local Tesco, the one on offer there was Moto E, 2nd gen, 4g 8GB. It was unlocked. purchase price £69.95.

They are selling off quite a few phones. I have had a few Moto E for £29.99 & today i bought a Moto G 4G 1st gen 8gb for £47.50. Was locked to tesco though
They also had a Lumia 435 for £39.95 also locked

Picked myself one up at tesco holmbush shoreham. Locked to tesco but with a free gift on activation. Price as the original post states. Had only two in stock. Even the staff were impressed with the value for money.

The one Tesco sells isn't dual-sim.

my moto g 2nd gen is fast not laggy and has dual sim it runs brilliant. if it is a 2nd gen its 3g. I can also transfer apps to the SD card. awesome phone.

Really like these as had my 1st gen since release but it's slowly dying now but the models are so confusing!

Are the reviews good or bad for this phone I heard they were not good.

Are you sure it's a moto g as went into tesco and the moto e was on offer at this price not the g even asked at the desk!

im after an android phone with a decent processor and that can have 2 sims online at the same time, is this suitable?

The Moto G 2nd generation LTE never came with Android 4.4, the standard version did though, without LTE.

If you read the deal post they were doing the 2nd gen for 135 at the time I think, that's the one I ended getting. I can upgrade it to a newer android version but seems to be going great on 4.4.4, with most of the apps that I can move to SD it still leaves room on the system memory.

I believe the 2nd gen 3g one were all dual sim, the 4g ones were not. It's confusing though!

I have one of these, it used to be horribly buggy and slow, but then it got an update and now it runs pretty well.

Was looking into this yesterday because my wife's phone is eternally out of storage space, it looks like the Moto G 2nd gen. may get marshmallow update in December.

Those that like to play with custom roms and the like, there's an alpha version of CM13 (marshmallow) which seems to work pretty well despite a few minor bugs.

Surely you should know if it's a good deal or not, otherwise if it isn't you'd be spamming the forum. If everyone just posted for the sake of it might be a good deal then we'd have tons of spam deals here, maybe that's what people do and I missed it.

Op, can you give more details, which store, barcode, what network, etc.? I suspect from your question that you are not a mobile phone expert, so wondering exactly what is on offer - either the dual sim 3g or the 4g version perhaps?
