So unhygienic and yet so cute. Also has nothing to do with the OP, but I am still glad you posted it.

If it's fresh, it's really good. One of my favourite ones @ Morrisons

Maybe different stores have different standards, but in my local Morrison's the Tiger bread has far too soft a crust for my liking. Even 10 minutes in a hot oven didn't improve it much. It soon went soft again. Haven't bought it since. I prefer the Sainsbury's version.

Morrison's bread is awful at our local. I'm sure it's cooked from frozen dough

The Lidl one is only 400g & a small 400g at that

They're both kind of similar but Morrisons' tiger loaf is 800g (now 70p) and Lidl's is 400g (50p). Taste-wise, they're both quite good. (But if you want a better baguette, Lidl's beats Morrisons anytime!)

What? Surely 400g is 400g!?

I think you'll find a great variation within bread ranges according to the skill of the 'baker'. This is freshly baked bread, baked on the premises, not pre-packed. Love Morrisons bread, great value at 70p for 800g. Any left over, pop it in oven next day & it comes out fresh as.

I've voted hot because the prices is good. However I cannot fault the freshly baked bread in our local Lidl. The best however being the 800g crusty white loaves which are £1 and are delicious. Nicer than the bread in our local Morrisons. That's not to say the bread in our local Morrisons is horrible, just not as nice. Our local Morrisons has also gone through a phase where every single freshly baked loaf of bread is sliced. Meaning that they don't stay crusty, so that's off the list at the moment. The freshly baked bread in our local Asda, now that is horrible.
None of our local supermarkets do what I call nice freshly baked wholemeal bread, you have to go to the bakers for that.

Try the Co-op. Their bakery wholemeal loaf is good!

Weight-wise, yes, but if you compare size/volume, some can be bigger and others smaller. I don't usually go to Tesco but when I popped in there recently, I noticed their 800g Tiger loaf was much bigger than Morrisons --- this must mean that it has more air in the loaf. If you compare them by taste, you'll probably find that the slightly denser bread is nicer (to me anyway!) which is why Lidl's bread taste better, I think!

Must agree about Lidl small baguettes. They are 19p each & over half the size of a large 75p one. Great value, great taste.
