Oh feel like all my Christmases have come at once...thoroughly enjoyed the advert when I saw it tonight and even more to the point...Mog is back and the world is a happier place...am assuming a Bobby Ewing style dream is the likeliest explanation...avid Mog fans will know what I mean

Saw the advert last night and LOVED it...so much better than the miserable Waitrose one. My Australian niece loves Mog so that's a stocking filler taken care of.

That's very good! Unless he's read it loads at school so knows it off by heart? My 5yr old recits the ENTIRE story of We're Going on a Bear Hunt which is wonderful....the first time

Mog is a rather fetching grey cat that appears in a series of stories by Judith Kerr...she also wrote the tiger who came to tea :innocent:
Has to be said the advert is very entertaining...well done sainsbury's for putting some cheer into this time of year!

Cultural Philistines. Mog starred in a series of books for children through the 90's and Noughties. If you have a kid under 25 then you will probably have read them. If you haven't, you are missing out on some of the best written and drawn stories for children, with lessons on life, love [and death] for kids and parents alike.
The last book [from 2003? Really?] didn't end well for Mog, hence the Bobby Ewing reference about this one. We'll be reading the new one aloud round the fire on Christmas Eve. Daughter's boyfriend will just have to man-up and listen.

Yeah well mine's just bought home "War and Peace" and reads it word perfect. And he paints like Van Gogh and writes music like Bach. And takes free kicks like Beckham.

She's even older than that! Mog was about when I was a child in the early '80s and my mum remembers reading it to her sisters in the early '70s! Mog is timeless  Think this is the best Xmas ad I've seen, I think it's great!
